Default 06' Cobra

Drove behind a brand new Cobra in traffic today- Im not too familiar with the domestics, but it looked mean- I saw pillar mounted gauges and a big front mount along with a mean rear wheel offset- I know they are blown- what kind of numbers do they typically put down off the showroom floor?

The only Cobra that's suppose to be out now is the Shelby GT500, but that doesn't actually have the word "Cobra" on the rear bumper just the picture of the snake above the rear bumper.

Well, I have an 03 Cobra, and 100% stock put down 372 hp/364 torque to the wheels on a dynojet. If it said COBRA on the rear bumper, the only years it said that was 96-98, 01 and 03/04.. the 99 just said Mustang, and so did the 00 Cobra R. To tell the 01 from the 03/04, the words COBRA are smaller and right above them is an opening just like all the other 99-04 Mustangs, the 03/04 Cobra has a solid rear bumper and the words COBRA are written in letters about twice as large as the 01.

the potential of the 03/04 Cobra is incredible, MM&FF had an article on a 04 Cobra with a Hellion 76 MM single turbo, on the stock long block it made 847 hp at the wheels at 24 psi, and the owner said it would see 29-30 psi in 4th gear at WOT so figure closer to 900 hp to the wheels..

here's a picture of a 06 GT500 from the rearend..

SVT is lagging because they are dead (Ford is closing that division last I heard). It might have been a dealer conversion. The only thing out, as said above, will be the Cobra GT500.

There are a ton of dealer converted cars to look like saleens, cobras, rousch racing etc. Some are fast and the real deal, some are all smoke and mirrors.
