Default 06 E350 Pulls S2000 on Freeway.

So a buddy and I was coming back from a club in City of Industry last night and I was rolling in the E350 Rental.

This car is surprisingly fast, especially when cold. Starting out in first gear it would burn out all through first sometimes. So yes, Mercedes knows how to make their auto's... short gears and 6 speed.

Anyways, we came up on a Silver S2000 with exhaust and black rims last night. I was giving it a little gas showing him that we were interested, he was not having it. No signs of any aggression on his part, he eventually difted back behind us. All of a sudden, WOOSH he zoomed by. Its on!!

I punched it to line up with him again, as we came up neck to neck I flicked my wrist to the left... 6th 5th 4th 3th I downshifted. At the same time he downshifted as well... just not as smooth as the Mercedes..

I gave it 3 honks and we both went, in the end of third he inched ahead, until I went into forth. I kepted up with him doing 90mph and eventually started inching ahead! I could not believe my eyes and neither could my friend... we were WALKING an S2000.

I didn't know what happend, but these 06 E350's are FAST!!

Huh. Interesting.

I don't think I would bother taking the bait from a Mercedes. Just a pointless situation.

Yea, it would be pointless.. losing to a 4dr rental is pretty embarrasing.

What do you expect? Those are 3.5 liter v6's making 260ish hp. Those cars are bred for top end pull on the Autobanh*sp.

I think the car's power is under-rated as well.

Honestly, I do not see the point of someong buying an E500. 10k more for an extra 35 hp and an engine that consumes more gas? Pointless.

I driven to Vegas, cruised around the strip and back to baker on one tank of gas.

Fuel economy on this car is AMAZING.

If you guys are considering an everyday car, strongly consider the 06 E 350. Mercedes is also discounting these like crazy. Local deal Auto Steigler is taking 7,500 off MSRP + giving you a 5,500 AMG package for FREE!!

Neck breaking off the line acceleration, strong top end and awesome brakes. Not too bad for a car that weights 4000 lbs.

Damn, I should be a Mercedes Salesman.

E 350 Rental $119 per day

1 full tank of gas 45 bucks (89 Octane)

Trip to Vegas, around town and back to the valley 1 1/2 tank of gas

Smoking GT Verts and S2000 on the freeways....

Priceless
