Default 07 civic Si vs S2k

So last night on my way to work i see a black 07 Civic Si. I see this guy driving about 2 times out of 5 times on my trip to work. I just knew one night it was gonna happen.

Like i stated it was night time about 1030pm, roads are completely clear of cars. The road is a long straight 2 lane road both ways. As safe as it gets on the street, but even in these safe coniditions i rarely "street race." The speed limit is 55.

I seen the guy behind me and he cruised by me going about 65-70. I had cruise control set on about 62. I speed up alittle in hopes to catch a light with this guy, sure enough it happened.

We stop at the light, he is in my blind spot to my right so i cant see if he is giving me a nod, checking out my car or what. So i ease off the clutch give my car enough gas to get moving, i take my car to about 4k rpm because i didnt think he wanted to go. Low and behold he floors it.

Well needless to say i was surprised, but i soon after followed suit. So him just hitting it puts my front bumper at about his back bumper before i even stomp on my car. First gears stops his pull, second gear puts our front bumpers even, third gear smashes his hopes. In third i could see his whole car in my side view mirrior (cant judge car lengths by my side view but i would think it was a few cars), once i switch to fourth the race was clearly over so i let off.

Stopped at the next light with the guy, and he wouldnt even look at me. So i laughed to myself and took off normal at this light and resumed the speed limit. Stopped at the next light still acted like i wasnt there. So i rolled down my window and honked at him. I said "man that is a nice looking car and that K series line is a strong motor line." He replied "Thanks, i just wanted to see what my stock Si would do agianist a s2k." I asked him the year of his car he told me an 07, i told him if he gets a chance to run a stock s2k he would of done better.

Turns out to be a nice guy in the USAF after that we parted ways.

stock si is low to mid 90mph car out of the box, stock s2k is high 90 to 100mph car...it shouldn't be close at all, especially with your mods. good kill.

Yeah, I remember about 2 months ago when I came across the 4dr 08 SI with no plates on and yielded similar results. I didn't know that he was gonna floor it either so he got a head start by a full car but by the end of 3rd gear I was probably 2 cars ahead and that's when I shut it down(no need to go any further).

Completely caught me off guard due to him not having plates on yet and I figured he'd wanna break it in first. Not my car so not gonna be my problem.
