1 and 1 with a Viper
Here is another from the VA area.....
I am out on Saturday night looking for some action. I went to Hampton and Newport News but I see nothing that INTERESTS me. So, we (I have a passenger) call it a night. I am heading back home 64 east and I decide to slow down to the speed limit of 55 mph. I figure if something was out there they might catch me before I get to my exit. Well I an cruising like this for a while and I have my first dilemma do I take the HOV lanes or do I go with the regular flow. I decide to go with the flow. A few minutes later, I see a car with headlights that resemble a Dodge Intrepid. As it gets closer I think that car is awful low and wide for a Intrepid. As it passes I see a red Viper coupe. Sweet car. But they do resemble a clown shoe. Anyway, I decide to speed up and pace him and see if they are interested in a little friendly race. The license plate was pretty funny it said either "Get bitten" or "Got bitten". In any case, they goosed it first. I was very surprised usually the driver of such a nice automobile will continue on with out a glance. The two dudes in the car obviously wanted to roll. I down shifted to third and floor it. I am not sure who took off first but I do know they passed me
not hard but they did pass me. In fact, when they put on the brake lights I was probably 2 cars behind. Well, I figure something has to be wrong I have pulled a new Cobra **HARD**and I have beaten a Viper before. Well, while catching up I glance at the PFC I realized I had shifted to early
I was shifting around 7 grand. WAY TO EARLY! I get beside them and give them a thumbs up. I slowly pass them and they get right behind me...they slide over to get ready to pass me...but I was ready this time. It was already in the right power band little over 5200 rpms (I can't remember if I was in third or fourth) I floor it and pull about 2 cars on up to about 140. I slow down they took the next exit I followed but decided it would be best not to press my luck with the ghetto-bird and took the following exit. All in all it was a good night. This race was with my RX-7 R2 To4E single turbo I was boosting about 15 psi that night.

As the previous owner of an S2000 and the current brother of a Viper owner i can tell you this. The Viper annihilates the S2000. It isn't even close. By 100, it would be way down the road. While you were in 3rd gear they were most likely in 5th, and they would still pull. Drop the viper into 3rd at 70 and the S2000 would shoot back like it hit the brakes.
LOL. I always find it funny when a person on the S2000 board owns another car (that is faster), then posts a kill story about driving that other car and beating (or nearly beating) something an S2000 hasn't a chance against. Almost always someone jumps on them for talking BS all because they didn't read the entire post.

) So you have to read what car the person might be driving.
I can't take it. Please remove that gorgeous RX-7 from my face.......
