Driving home from a night on the town tonight, minding my own business. I see a 1st gen talon ahead of me with a nasty fart can muffler. He keeps downshifting and gunning it as I approach. Keep in mind, I'm going roughly 52 in a 50, so by no means am I trying to catch up to him to race him. So as i approach and he's about a car and a half ahead of me, in the left lane (I'm in the right, duh) I see him totally rubberneck around and look at me. He then drops a gear or two, and guns it. Well I had to follow suit, just for fun. Just to see if he had anything more than the muffler. We were doing about 50 when the drama began, and as we are gunning it down this open road, I'm staring at his girl in the car with this kind of dull look on my face (she was kind of ugly by the way, not that it matters) and I immediately start to reel him in and pass. Well as we hit about 65 I'm not pulling on him anymore, and he's slowly starting to pull away. I see some cars ahead so I let up. I wanted to race him from a dig so bad after that, cause I know I would have destroyed him off the line...but oh well. Turns out that his only mod was in fact his muffler. I stress muffler, not cat back. And it wasn't the turbo talon either. I need to get my Cherokee a tune up...I should have walked all over him. Crap.

 

The Cherokee can't lose!

 

c'mon now...you've been waiting a long time to do that. Ha ha. I stopped that "the s can't lose" stuff a couple weeks ago.

there's no doubt about it...it was not a turbo. Even my dog (who was in the car) was pissed at me for losing that one.

I did, but no go fast mods...just trail ready mods. Part of the reason it's not as fast any more. Need to re-gear it.
