2 months and no encounters
i've had my 02 spa yellow s2k for 2 month's, and no encounters.. the closest thing i got was a with a turbo VW beetle and that wasn't even an encounter because we only got up to 80mph (which is my normal cruising speed after a long day at work). The driver of the beetle had fun with it.. but anyways, since i haven't had any recent with the s2k and reading everyone elses runs got me wanting to write something.. The only two I had was back in '96 (21yrs old at the time) in my 87 300zx turbo vs another z (around same yr) turbo w/intercooler.. coming off the brooklyn bridge onto the FDR, this z pulls hard behind me, so i'm like cool. i let him have the right lane and i take the middle. we are going at it around 75mph.. if you know the stretch of the bk bridge to houston street, that is pretty fast.. so we are pretty much neck in neck when an old lady comes into my lane from the left lane, luckily i have enough time to get into the left lane, so i downshift to 4th and floor it.. by the time we get to the houston street exit, i have about 2 cars on him.. as we exit, he pulls up and asks what i had done to mine.. we were both stock except i had a stick and his was automatic.. guess that was good enough to give me an edge.. whatever.. a win is a win and i felt good about it.. he gave a nod and drove off..
my only other run was on the sprain brook pkwy vs a mid 90's acura legend.. i was in a 97 bmw 3series (4door full with 5 passengers - 3 of us are around 180 - 190 lbs each.. ) this time it was me pulling up on him.. he glances over and smiles.. we're at around 85mph.. we go punch it and are pretty much even up to 115mph.. we do this for about mile and a half before he has to exit.. he gives the thumbs up and we are on our way... probably would have taken a lead for if not for all the weight..
fortunately for me, my runs were always in fun without having to deal with the attitude of whose car is better ordeal..
well needed to get this off my chest.. and hopefully come back with a newer story soon.. sorry for all the writing..

Slow down on the freeway, you're not making any ground at that speed. I found that if I just cruise along at 60 mph or so, somebody usually finds me! I know it's painful, but I get a lot more action that way.
^ Me too...But I also get alot of runs in when I pass car's with my cruise set at 100+...They get the idea
...this car is way to stable at 100 and gets up there effortlessly..I find if i'm not looking at the speedometer steadily I will be at 90-100 in no time...just because it feels safe.

i'll try the "slow down" method.. as for getting up to 80mph being effortless, that's just it. i have to keep myself from cruising at 85 or 90... and stay somewhat within the speed limit..
thanks guys
