Default 2 Supras, a Turbo Eclipse

Ran against a very quick blue supra a couple times a couple days ago, and I had to up the boost to 6-7psi (I'm usually running around at 4psi unless I really need it). The supra owner mentioned something about a broken oil seal (piston rings maybe?) and in between shifts he was belching up some nice black clouds of smoke. Don't let appearances get you fooled though, this was one quick supra. We ran a few times, never really enough to get a good idea, but I think that I was pulling on him about a length for a 1st-2nd gear run, and 2nd-3rd gear run, maybe a half a length. Nice guy though, lives near me and I'm sure I'll be seeing more of him.

Ran against a black supra, driven by a girl with her boyfriend(?) in the front seat. I would pull up next to them and they'd start to make a lot of noise, so I'd take off.. So much so that it seemed like they weren't racing, so I cut it down, and then they would blow by me.. I don't know if she was racing or just didn't quite get it.. But I do think that it was a stock-ish supra, and wasn't really that close (if she really was gunning it). Maybe they were just in the wrong gear, dunno.

And lastly, a series of runs against a nicely running Eclipse turbo, pushing 16 psi. Was a pretty close match but I would slowly walk on him. Usually it would take a full gear to get a length (if we started with my front bumper at his rear it would end with my rear at his front). Was another nice guy but didn't really get a chance to talk to him. Cops were kinda all over the place too so we didn't play too much.

All in all, was a fun week. All this was on pump gas too. My head gasket is coming later next week, so I'll probably be able to run a few more PSI on pump gas. We'll see how it turns out! You guys still want these reports coming in? They seem repetitive to me.. I haven't really run up against a car on the street that's been a real good race. Ultimately I'd like to run into a 911t while on race gas, or something like that.

ChirsD and Derryck, I sincerely enjoy any kill stories you have. You 2 represent the quickest S2000's out there and I love hearing your encounters. Gives me a reason to save for the turbo! Bottom line, keep them COMING!!!

definately interesting post.. keep them up Chris. Its cool to hear what cars you can hang with.. like derycks stomping of a new z06.. thats just awesome to think that a 2.0L 4banger did that.

make it known when you head down to houston.. cause i'll make a trip down there cause i wanna see the turbo in action before making the decision of SC or TC.. when i've got the $.

In Houston we like to call this the "Ricer Fly-by". This is what ricers do when they get smoked, to make them feel some sort of self-worth; get used to it...because you'll be smoking up a lot of rice my friend.
