2012 Golf R vs AP1 S2000 lightly modded
Hey guys,
My brother was in town and he let me take his car for a spin around town. It's the most recent version of the R32 Golf Series brand. The new one is called the "Golf R" stock they come with 256hp and similar torque. My bro is not stock though. I believe stock these cars run 14.0 @100mph according to motorweek so similar to a stock S2000.
His mods: APR Downpipe, APR High Pressure Fuel Pump, Cold Air Intake, and APR Stage 2+ tune.
I was driving and a nice Red S2000 with a nice sounding exhaust pulled up on the highway and it looked like an invidia exhaust and later the owner told me it was an invidia exhaust and intake on his car. Clean S2000!!! Cool owner....
Well now to the runs, we did a 40mph roll to 120mph or so and i put like 5 cars on it. And the 2nd time we ran from a 60mph roll and I beat him to 110mph or so by like 4 cars I had to let off if I kept going I would have pulled more. All in all I am impressed with these new Golf's these turbo motors are handling bolt ons really well. This car has ran a Stage 2 STi before and it's been pretty damn close with one.
Cliff Notes: Golf R puts 4-5 car lengths on highway rolls against a lightly modded S2000.

Golf R with those mods are pushing 300+ hp and tq. Makes for a quick car. I actually looked at one but bought a E92 335i m sport with 6sp manual instead. The new haldex system has helped out that car alot, it is alot of fun in the turns now.
No doubt. I was impressed with how quick my bro's car was! It felt a lot like my old Stage 2 STi. LOL. I couldn't believe that this little Golf moved so hard! I guess with the new K04 turbo it shouldn't be a surprise to me. hahaha

Really man? You've got to be joking me!! LMAO! My Stage 2 STi wiped the floor with any N/A S2000 gears, etc, etc.... and this Golf R pulls very similar to the STi. So no.... an S2000 with bolt ons and drivermod will STILL get pulled by the Golf R. And I'm being totally honest with you I've driven and ran a lot of different cars and the outcome won't change.
Lol ur a vw fanboy nobody cares. I ran a stage 2 golf r when my mazdaspeed3 was stock and i pulled on him by half a car. Vw sucks and always will. The onky thing they are good for is being low n slow

lol, I don't think he is refering to the same golf R, he probably went up against the R32, not the R20. The new one is not that quick from the factory, but with stage 2 upgrade is becomes a pretty decent performer.
