Default 450whp ITR...WOW

Here's the story, I recently bought a stripped Type-R (missing engine and misc stuff) as a project car and plan to put in my race engine that I built so I went to my friends shop to have him port my cylinder head a little more before I send it in to the machine shop for a final finish...

At the shop, I met my old buddy who was there working on another engine, I talked to him and he said he's
got a 450whp ITR too and if anybody wants to race him for money. Later, we are all talking about engine building. FYI, I like talking to him about engine building because I seem to learn more and more every time from him. So he was thinking about selling his motor in his ITR. He then went back home and brought back the ITR in 10 minutes since he lives near by.

THAT CAR IS A MONSTER.

It is a fully built motor, tubo'ed, DFI stand-alone system, MSD ignition, upgraded fuel system...etc. He claims
he puts 450hp at the wheels at 1BAR (14-15psi) of boost. He say he can turn the boost up when it comes to races up to 25psi. So he offered a ride in the car (Yea, I wish I could drive it but I didn't ask)

Well, that car is really FAST. Low RPM, it's got lots of torque. He pushed it in a straight street
1st gear lots of torque, tires spinning all the way till 2nd gear and a little in 3rd, when it grips in
3rd, I saw the boost is full boost and we were only at about 60mph 'cuz of tires spinning then
the car jumps from 60mph to about 1000mph in like one second!! It pulls so hard and push me back
in the stock ITR seat.. Scared the shit outta me. I never rode in a ITR that's that fast.
Just thought that I'd share this with you guys. I just got my Type-R and I hope I can build it so it's
SCARY fast. (Maybe not, my engine is all-motor, his is a Turbo'ed)

For him to put that kind of power at the wheels, he must have a BIG BIG turbo. At Least T3/T4 or bigger.

A better question is how long does it put down 450 wheel hp before you have to shift?

I've seen a lot of dyno queen turbo cars that run shitty E.T's because the only time they make that power is WAY up top. After a few hundred rpm of peak power, you redline and have to shift, then the power drops

Torque steer == FUN!!!

gay...

"$8500 Mustang 5.0 runs 10.4 1/4 will beg like a dog on the drag strip running slicks. Street Legal"

hmm..450WHP and it only spun the tires until 3rd..that seems fishy. The Z06 can bark the 3-4 shift which is about 100mph and it is RWD...I don't buy this shit.

Don't trip, my friend. He just finished the car and dyno tuning it.
He might be running at CMI on Aug 10/11th and for sure NHRA at Infineon Raceway (former Sears point) on Sept 7 and 8th , look for a fast ITR. He's guessing high 10s on slicks. I'll be there with
my ITR (all-motor) as well.

FYI, he's built a EK hatch that ran 10.4s and he's been always in Quick 8 class here in California.
