Default 70shot AP1 versus modded Evo X

S2k mods- K&N drop in filter, invidia tp, and 70 shot of nitrous. 92 pump gas.

Evo X mods- intake, flowmaster exhaust, test pipe, race gas, and a manual boost controller running 24-spiking 27 psi. He said he was brake boosting all of the roll races.

35 roll- I overreved 1st for a second and he pulled 2 and a half cars.

dig- I just spun, spun, and spun, and shut down at 40 with him being a bus ahead. It was 30 degrees out and he was on all 4 blizzacks. I've got junk tires. Knew it'd be a slaughter for me.

42ish roll- he got me by about 2.

Im actually suprised at how well i did. Shouldn't he have been alot faster? I wonder if its cause the genius isn't tuned.

you should have pulled him more if that 70shot was tuned right. but the only way you would win is on a ROLL off the line the AWD will win everytime haha. that 40 roll surprised me.... maybe shoulda put it in 2nd gear and smashed it by 3rd you would have started pulling.

next time rematch at like 60mph then smash it :-) so no burning out for you

A few people have been saying he was at 30psi and thats why he had race gas, but he told me 24psi and spiking 27psi so IDK.

For the 40 I was in 2nd. From what I heard, he put a couple cars on a C6 vette as well from a roll.

I've been trying to find someone with a wideband, after I do and change out some jets, I'll rerun the guy.

Hmm i was woundering how we would do against a stock evo 10 i think with a roll we would win. I want to see stock for stock. The evo 10 weighs in at 3500 pounds so it out weighs us by 700 pounds i would hope that would be enough to even up the game. I use to own a VIII that was moded i would pull on every thing i went up aganst all day

From a roll, a stock or lightly modded S would be a pretty good run with a stock Evo 10. They're only 100-102 trap cars.

Even my stock G35 coupe was basically even with a buddies evo x. From a dig however, well that goes without saying.

[QUOTEyou should have pulled him more if that 70shot was tuned right.[/QUOTE]

How can you say that without knowing more about the set up...if it was just a dry shot dumping a 70hp jet into the air intake then there is no tuning involved. Generally with just a 70 shot this is what people are running...dumping the nitrous into the already turbulent air intake, this will generally yield about 50 WHP for a short duration. Direct port is a whole nother story...

But its mainly because of the jet ratings of manufacturers. My dry kit is rated 70 flywheel hp. Most direct port kits are rated WHP. A lot of people also don't run bottle heaters so they won't dyno as high either.

No tuning in my setup yet or I would be spraying a larger shot. Need to save up for that EMS.

If the X wasn't tuned, then I think tires were your biggest downside and why you did not do better. I have a X with a few bolt ons and its not that fast, with a tune its a different story...

X's from the factory are running super rich even with his mods he may be running a little leaner and picking up some HP, but when he tunes it he will pick up LOTS of power. You should get better tires, and upgrade your I/H/E/bottle heater and run him again before he tunes it
