Default 98 Max Vs. 2003 white s2k

Hey guys,

I just wanted to say Hi. I am a max owner and wanted to give you guys props. Anyways I just wanted to share my race with you guys.

A few weeks back, I was driving on rt 7 in Sterling, Va and was minding my own business when a set of HID's are coming up on me fast. I look over and a white s2k goes past me going at least 100mph. I was driving 65.

I speed up and he waits for me. I see him smirk at me and I smile back. We both gunned it at the same time. I was in third with my nitrous armed. My rpm switch is set at 3K so I started to slowly walk him. At about 120 I had 2-3 cars on him. I slow down and he gives me the most shock look ever and I gave him the thumbs up.

I thought I would just share my story and pay my respect for the s2k. If I didn't have N2O i would have gotten eaten alive.

My Car:

1998 Nissan Maxima SE 5spd
Mods:
Frankencar intake, warpspeed y pipe, apex ws catback, Exedy stage 1 clutch, fidanza lightened flywheel, Tein S tech springs, Kyb Agx shocks and struts, Addco RSB, Freedom designs FSTB, Exel BK7 18x7.5 gunmetal rims, Stillen front lip, ionic sides and rears, and more.

O yeah and NX wet kit and gen 2 upgrade (75shots)

I should be putting about 260 fwp and about 275 tq

Thanks, do you have a site with your s2k? I was at a meet in Va and saw the silver s2k in sport compact car magazine and it was one of the sweetest rides there. Well, next to the techademics MR2 at least

Nah I can't tell him. He smirked at me and laughed that I had a 4 door sedan. I thought it was funny because he ran into my sleeper.

Good race. I would hardly call your car a sleeper though.

I would say that I am sleeper only because most people in sport cars do not know about maximas. They see it as a four door family car and do not realize the potential nor that in its stock form, that it is one fast car.

Stock
0-60 6.6 secs (faster than a lot of cars in its class and a lot of sport cars in its price range)
faster stock 1/4 is 14.2-14.4 i believe. (don't quote me, i don't remember)

All in all, i think a lot of people underrate a lot of cars.

I did when I raced a civic and lost to it. I was out of N2O and though that I would walk this civic without it. Boy was I wrong, As he crept past me, I saw the huge FMIC and watched him walk me by 2 cars by 100mph. Good news is that if I had any N2O left I would have murdered him.

Yeah, the general perception of most drivers is that only low, two-seat cars with large displacement engines are 'fast' while economy cars, family sedans, etc are not. Hey, I had that perception too, when I was like 13

On this site, I think most of us hardly understimate too many cars since we've seen just about everything modded to a point where its a quarter mile monster.
