Well i was out for a cruise tonight and as I am driving I end up catching up to a 2003 mustang gt all blacked out windows and loud exhaust... I did not floor it or anthing.. I ened up going into another lane and he follwed me into that lane as I approached a red light.. When it went green i shifted to 2nd and by that time he had passed the other car ( that was beside me at the light) and he floors it.. so i follow.. he got a little bit of a jump on me ..1/2 car maybe.. but by 3rd I had reeled him in and was starting to pull... we then shut down... we did another pull and again he got a little jump taking of first.. (maybe i should have brake boosted) and the same thing happened.. I slowly ended pulling a bit... We then pulled over and have a conversation and talked about what we had.. Real cool guy...

He had:

Full exhaust,, I,H E
gears ( forget what ones)
aftermarket intake manifold
chip
and he was talking about cams.. Not sure if they were in or not

greddy turbo at around 10 psi
full exhaust
meth injection

Overall I was pretty surprised I did not pull on him more, but I guess those things take bolt ons very well.... He thought I would have pulled more too... Guess I check for some boost leaks and wait to get a Mase tune with some upgrade goodies... Then we weill see what happens

The 99+ have much better flowing heads than the earlier than 99 models. They take to bolt-ons much better, also he had gears, huge upgrade in a mustang gt as they are 5 speeds. So it shortens those stupid long gears. And he had tuning.

If he had cams too, he must've had shitty ones

Good runs OP. Those Mustangs respond very well to mods as the other guys said. He had a decent amount of bolt ons.

 

I'm not sure what the hell you guys are talking about. Mustangs don't respond all that well to simple mods. The reason he kept it so close is because of his gears. Mustangs are horribly geared.

The intake/header/exhaust don't do much for him. The aftermarket intake manifold is probably because the original one is made of plastic and is prone to cracking. Most replace them with aluminum ones.

His chip probably didn't do much unless he had cams.

I only say this because i have an 01 Mustang Gt with pretty much the same setup as that guy except I don't have the gears.

It's supposed to be like that. The ad script or whatever it is looks at keywords on the webpage, it singled out Mustang and decided on an ad for the 2010 mustang.

 

looks like the mustang had 250-270rwhp

 

Yah I think he said he had about 340 hp or something like that...
