Im curious to hear your perspective and experience on racing against an IS300. Pretty much on the lexus board they all talk shit, but personally i think a S2k will walk an IS300, from a dig. I dont know about a roll tho. I have never drove an IS300, just an altezza so i cant give you feedback on them.

 

I am about 99% sure that a stock s2k will own a stock IS300. Now I have never driven one, but that is just based off of me looking at the numbers...

 

A stock S2000 should demolish a stock IS300 from a stop or a roll. I've driven the manual IS300 a bunch of times (never tried the automatic) and it just isn't very fast.

 

a stock IS auto runs if the 7's 0-60 the 5spd runs in the mid 6's....the S will take either one

 

s2k will demolish it, but hey, there 2 very diffrent types of cars. I personally would love a is for a daily driver

 

especially the new 300+ HP IS 350

i have raced 3 s2ks in my Altezza and walked them all. But my altezza isnt stock so obviously that had something to do with it.

 

Wow is that how much power the new IS will be putting out? Pretty awesome if it is.

 

The new IS350 gets a 3.5L v6 (same engine as the new Avalon gets), and will put down over 300hp, and over 275 lb-ft. according to the specs shown at the New York International Auto Show. The car itself looks really nice and has got some nice features available. Lexus predicts a sub-6 second 0-60 time. I'm seriously looking at it as a replacement for my daily driver although the lack of a manual tranny has got me thinking twice about it.

The new IS250 will get a 2.5L v6, with over 200hp and over 180 lb-ft with a 6 speed manual tranny standard and optional 6 speed paddle shift auto tranny. It will also have an AWD option.

 

I have an 5M IS as a daily driver and an S as a fun/track car, and i can tell you that the S is definitely faster. I heard that the new IS350 was only going to have 245hp or so? Over 300 would be sweet...
