Default Ap1 vs. 06+ Si

Okay, just about 10 minutes ago, I'm on my way home from a 100 mile trip with my mother to see some family earlier today. I just got done planning out a Laguna Seca trip next month with her today(gonna be the first time taking her to the track with me). I pass up a Civic (didn't notice it was an Si) as I was going about 75mph in the fast lane. Few seconds later, I see the civic again, young guy (slightly younger than me), maybe 18ish with a hat on slowly passing me going 80 and looking over into my car really hard. I saw the small spoiler and the Si badge and thought, "cool, couldn't really tell it was an Si". Well I switch two lanes right to merge onto a different freeway. And I don't really do stupid things on the street anymore, so I stay 2 cars behind him. Turns out he's merging onto the same freeway, which has a long 2 lane sweeper. This is one of my favorite on-ramps, so I speed up a little bit with the civic still in front of me. I hit vtec in 5th or 6th gear not on it too hard, and staing in the inside lane while the civic switches out and comes in to take a "racing line" (notice the quotation marks, he went into the turn a little too soon, hit the apex a little short ) ! I didn't because I didn't want my mom thinking I was trying to race him, which I really wasn't cause I woulda been in 4th gear and woulda took a similar line into the sweeper. Well I hit about 100 on there and my mom was screaming for me to slow down (I got two speeding tickets 2 years ago, so trying to keep a clean record, especially after I discovered the track). So I oblige, and slow down drastically. I was sitting here kind of upset that I couldn't really run the civic, but said to myself, "whatever" with confidence, because he should know I wasn't racing him, or I woulda dusted him. But this guy keeps on going until there's maybe 25 cars between us as I was already back to crusing the sweeping transition ramp at 75. Then the funniest thing happens...HE THROWS ON HIS HAZARDS!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!! My mom was just getting finished yelling, and then she stops and says, "why is he putting on his hazards?". I started laughing and said..."he thinks he beat me! ". My mom then says "haha, oh, that's why? "

I was laughing the whole way home. I was a little upset that the guy is going home thinking he beat an S2000. Maybe he's thinking the driver is crappy (I'm far from crappy ). All I know is...if that Si owner is reading this...YOU DID NOT BEAT ME! So you can turn your hazards off!

Why do they look at us real hard as if I am supposed to want what they have. I get that too many times too. Not that I feel superior, but if i was rolling in a civic and saw an S2k driving by me I would take my hat off and say hello. Atleast that was the respect I had for s2k's when I was driving around my old 89 CRX. Those were the good old days.

99% of the time I'm not the instigator of any races. I get that "you think you got something" look all the time, and that's usually when I look at them and bust out with an overly animated laugh. If they're just checking out the car I give them a
