Last night I was driving from my GF's apt to mine with a trunk and passenger seat full of boxes since I'm helping her move into her new apartment. Between her apt and mine, there is a long stretch of road that is in "country" area that isnt really used except by truckers that work at this plant off the road.

Im quietly rolling along at 45 (speed limit) when I see tail lights creeping up on me. I wasnt sure what it was until it was right beside me matching speed. I look over and see big red brembos through the chrome wheels and the big hood scoop. I dont think he was looking for a race, but was just cruising along just as I was.

I think we heard each others exhaust tone when it occurred to us that both cars were modded, and the idea of a run came into mind.

We were both pulling beside each other not really sure if there was a race about to happen, and I notice that our speed had went from 45 to 60 cruising. I noticed 1 lone set of headlights ahead of us and we both hold at 60 to make sure its not a copper. As the headlights pass and the coast is clear we both begin the pull and its ON.

Side by side, our speeds are climbing down an empty stretch of 4 lane road. His bumper started to crawl away a bit until what I assume was him shifting. I looked down and saw that I still had 3k rpms left before I had to shift, and thats when it hit. BOOM!! vtec just kicked in yo. I pulled away from him and glanced at my speedometer seeing 13x mph. From my side view I saw him lag behind and finally let off.

We went back into cruise mode and met up at as stop light and chatted with the windows down. He said he had seen my car around town a few times and recognized my plates. He invited me to a local car meet they have every saturday.
I laughed to myself as it felt like I had passed some initiation to get an invite to some secret club

Hmmmm, I've experienced the Sti's massive top end. Was it stock?

 

Hmmmm. I've raced an sti before... the sti had cobb ap and exhaust.

My car traps 101 mph in the 1/4 mile and he put a bus on me from a 3rd gear roll.

i've pulled on many stock or bolt-on Sti's top-end.
even if they get me low end, i always had the advantage 100+

 

I didn't know we could pull on STi's...

 

^ i REALLY dont know about that.

from personal experience and knowledge evo's and STI's are pretty damn slug top end in stock form.
