So im out for a little cruise since it was a pretty nice day in town for once and i see this Chevelle pull out bout 1/4 mile ahead of me so I try and catch up to it. Finally get next to it and see the SS badge and the 454 badge and the thing sounded badass. Finally get to a light where we are next to each other with no traffic ahead and we slow creep across the intersection and then I hear this thing beef up and put the hammer down so I did the same. From say a 10 mph roll to 90 mph I actually was bout a car ahead of him maybe little more. Old guy cruising before the car show tomorrow so he was pretty cool. Asked me what I had done to my S and I had to show him that it was bone stock. Who wouldve thought a 4 banger could beat that thing he said to me hahaha.

that 454 probably makes a BUTTLOAD of torque... but those cars also weigh a buttload too.

 

 

Good kill. Not all 454s are the same. Some make as little as 270hp, while others make north of 450hp. Just depends on the model year and options package.

 

He said he was putting down close to 360 hp to the wheels. He was a really cool old guy. Any idea on how much the weight difference is from the S2000 to the Chevelle?

 

70 454 chevelle weight is 3800 lbs. So around 1000 LBS diff.

 

if he was putting down 360 horsepower he probably had some stuff done to it, or it was the 450 horsepower 454...
