Today on my way home from the beach I noticed a new 04 S2 kinda swerving in and out of traffic (looking like he was in a rush) he was behind me, so I figured I would kinda slow down to let him catch up. Well he catches up and stops right next to me at a light. There was about 4 or 5 cars infront of both of us. And he complimented me on the lip and told me my exhaust sounded really nice and that he has his exhaust on order. I did the same to him and told him how I like the new bumpers and rims and shyt like that, we talked for a minute, then he points foward, so I was like hellllll yeaaaa (haven't raced the new S yet). We wait for the traffic to clear, and once it does we both drop gear to 2nd at about 45mph...on 3 honks we go...right away he started inching for maybe 2 1/2 sec. (about a foot and a half) then I start to come back on him, I hit 3rd and pull back even w/him, by mid 3rd I had about a half a car, I hit 4th and just kept on inching away (real slowly though), right at about the end (8500ish) of 4th I shut it down and had about a full car on him. I was pretty excited, beacuse once I saw him start to inch I thought that was the way the race was gonna go, but I pulled back. Also I had a passenger and he was by himself, and my top was down and his was up! The guy kinda gave me a grin and then went his own way. He was stock. I have an 00 w/ intake and exhaust.

 

Your car sounds like a total factory freak, as it has beaten a lot of stronger cars (no, I'm not talking about this '04).

 

Nice. We need more of these. Take an average like with the EVO races so far.

He (Blessed) hung with a C5 all the way up to 1xx mph. If that did happen, he definitely has a factory freak.

i know the difference between a stock s2000 and an s2000 with an intake and exhaust
if you where totally stock, then im sure he could have inched away

Maybe, but also you have to think that maybe he was still breaking in his S, whats the break-in point? 5000, 6, 8000 miles?? I bought my S w/14,000 miles on it, and when I 1st started to run it up to 8 grand and more the car was kinda bumpy i guess is the word for it, and it was kinda hesitant at high RPM's, but after I had it and ran it for about 5-6k miles it defenitaly felt ALOT smoother and quiter above 8k. It's like I trained the motor, and once the motor knew what it could do, it did it much better.

About the factory freak thing...I don't think it's a freak. I drove a few of my buddies S's and they all felt the same (except for the FI one) However I have seemed to pull excessively on cars that are real similar in performance. I just figured that I was just taking advantage of the other guys driver error, however the list of cars I've beaten is kinda weird...

I've also lost a few of races to some of thoes cars above, but ive also pulled them. I can't really explain some races, and Im not saying my car is faster then All thoes cars above, but it was on that given day. What can I say, Im not gonna argue w/pulling an sti from a 2nd gear roll 3times, all 3 races fair...the only other explination is driver error, cause I know the sti should pull, but whatever.

Thats why I will never pussy out of a race, cause anything can happen!!

 

can u go into more details on which GT's u beat?? is it a mustang or a porsche? or could it be a celica

ur list seems "incredible" not that i'm callin BS.. but its just that some cars is really hard to believe u beat.. the ferrari 355??

i have not known an S beat a ferrari before.. if i bought a ferrari and an S beat me.. i might as well said it.. buy an S!!

and if a S beat a ferrari.. whats the point in buyin an exotic if a roadster can beat it.. honestly.. the only reason why we think our cars are fast is based on a biase opinion.. i think the "actual" facts count.. everyone is saying.. the S is much faster then the evo or STi.. but when facts come in.. and #'s.. it says differ.. and proves us all wrong..

I don't see how you get so many street encounters.. especially with cars like that. I can honestly say the ONLY car i've raced by actually getting lucky lining up to it was a porsche 928. That's IT. I guess in a way it is good... keeps me out of doing something stupid on the road.
