Default AP1 vs Challenger R/T

Hey everyone,

Just thought I'd add my most recent late night fun. Driving home late at night and had a beautiful 2012 Challanger R/T(temp tag still in window) pull up next to me. I have a 03 AP1 with invidia N1 catback, Invidia test pipe, Weapon R Intake (looks cool lol), stage 4 comp clutch, lightweight flywheel and supertech dual valvesprings, Varrstoen 18x9 v2's wrapped in toyo RA1's 225 front, R1R's 255 rear. This is from a stop. Thru the intersection I pulled about one full car after we both launched. He was having no issues with getting the power down as he was right into second without much noise from tires. by the time we had hit mid third I was another half a car ahead. Wanted to get another race from a roll in but he turned at the next available street. I am giving alot of this to the tires and my launch. Add this to my list of v8 monsters. Buddy has 04 CTS-V and I pull about a car on him from a 25-45mph roll, and an 08 Mustang GT. There is a white turbo miata I am eyeballing in my area now just need to get my own boost setup.

Thanks for reading!

Went to speedworld in arizona. Ran a 13.9x@ 100ish on same setup minus catback and valvesprings....ill try to dig up the timeslip. Temp was a cool 80 degrees. I want to do some more road racing this winter.

O they were also sweeping gravel off the track that some dude dumped out the back of his truck when he launched....gotta love rednecks

In a straight line I have experiance...add some corners and I turn into a big baby haha. The tires helped alot on my launch I was more worried about bogging then tire spin.

My Dad has an R/T we did three digs and only if I get a good launch can I get a pull up front. Not sure what distance we were going, it wasn't far, but he would start running me down around bottom of 3 gear. I got two good launches (nothing super diff-breaking crazy) and had him by maybe a bumper when we shut down around 70ish. The one bad launch I couldn't catch him. He baby's that car and I would guess if he wanted to get mean with his launch he wouldn't even let me get ahead by even as much as I did. I'd guess in a full 1/4 he would run me down at the end. My car's 100% stock, so is his.

I've driven it a few times. It is easy to get off the line, and I love the sound of that Hemi. I wouldn't be surprised if there was an exhaust Engineer attached to just making it sound great.

Fun drivers race for sure.

Pretty impressive.

Btw what rpm did you launch on? I have the same rear tire size as you and running V12s. I have learned that launching at 7k gives me enough wheel spin to not hurt the diff, and by the time I hook its back in vtec. What do you think?

Not highjacking your thread but I had a similar experence yesterday with a challanger, I was in the left turn lane at the light and had one of these behind me, I knew he was going to mess with me, light turns green, I turn onto the street just shifting normally when he revs it, I went back into 2nd and hit it, he never got in front of me but I did get a slight punch on it before he did, only got up to about 80 mph. Keep in mind those cars are HEAVY, like 3800lbs curb weight.

More like 4100 lb. (4082 lb. on Dodge's website).

Absolute pigs.
