Default ap1 vs lexus GS?

So, I'm waiting at a red light on a 4 land street and a Lexus GS400/300 stops next to me. Using my peripheral vision i see the guy is talking to his wife smiling and looking towards my direction. I figured nothing of it.. since it happens quite often when your driving with the top town.

Anyways, light turns green and I take off normally.. then I see that the guy has gunned it and has turned his whole body around to look back at me, smiling. I wasn't going to let this happen... By the time I go WOT he's already 4 cars a head of me. I shut down at 85mph since it was 1pm and many cars were out. But to my suprise, I wasn't able to reel him in! Maybe 1/2 car at the most...

It was very embarrassing. I quickly turned off and went on my way feeling like crap... I'm guessing/hoping it was the gs400.

I'm pretty much stock, just a cai and single exhaust.

cliff notes:

-GS400 guns it at a red light
-4 cars later s2k guns it
-s2k pulls MAYBE .5 car
-embarrassed s2k driver decided to start saving for F/I

Yup. That sounds about right.

FI, baby!

There's not much point in street racing a stock S2000 these days. There are many "regular" vehicles that have a torque / hp:weight advantage... all while they're chatting on their cellphones and talking to their kids in the back.

Or you could pick on Camry's and small engined A4s....

OH YEAH?

I would have never let that happen to me.

by the time he's got 4 cars its too late anyways--his extra speed will outperform your better acceleration unless you're a LOT faster.

A stock GS400 can run very low 14s with traps in the upper 90s. With the advantage head start, it sounds about right.

you shouldve been expecting him to pull that move so that you wouldn't get owned and embarassed

make sure you find him again and beat him once you're FI!

this sounds like my encounter with a GS430 when i was stock. the only difference is that he was ahead of me and we both took a right turn. i knew he wanted to run by the aggressive way he was turning. I had kept mine in 2nd gear and gunned it from that pt on. The entire time I didnt gain on him one bit and he didnt pull on me. It was exactly even. I guess if I was in 1st during the turn I might've done a bit better, but i think the difference would've been so minimal results would be similar.

haha, I mad I didnt see it coming. I'm even more mad because I did try to catch him. I figured a elderly man with his wife was just checking out my car, nothing else. I wish I could of taken it back and not have tried at all... He would of been gunning it all by himself and his wife would of been like wtf are you doing...

I hate having regrets.. lol.
