Default Ap1 Vs Lightning

So the lightning belongs to my friend and we have been trying to set up this race for a long time and it finally happened last night. We are at a stop light and we exchange a . So the light turns green, I get a perfect launch, but the lighting still jumps ahead about a car. From then on it was pretty much even, no one pulled anymore, thats until we reached about 100, then I started pulling on him real hard and had a car on him at about 125. It was a great race. My mods are 18in rims, CAI, and crappy DC sport headers. Im pretty sure the lightning was stock. Later that night I raced a stage 3 Roush Mustang GT, but thats another story.

When I raced my Dads Lightning, stock vs. stock, he got about a car lenght on me right out of the hole. He could not pull on me after that.

There's more than one year of Lightnings out there. The 1999-2000 trucks would be a good race stock. The 2001+ trucks have 20hp more and steeper gears, so they would be a much tougher race, i.e. they would very likely pull convincingly.

And they are easy to mod, so you might very well have run into one with some mods.

Maybe throw on the stockers (rims/tires) and see how different the outcome is. 18"s great but mostly only for show.

Ya, I know it would help my acceleration a bit, but the rims where on the car when I bought it and they look really good (black rims/black car).
