Default AP1 Vs. Solstice...

So every Sunday, a group of friends and I from a local street racing board meet up in DE to BS and get a few runs off. Tonight we had a nice turn out, and one of my buddies brought out his new daily driver. A Pontiac Solstice GXE. (I think that's what it's called.) He tells me that they are supposed to go 14.10ish, at a nice MPH. So I decide to make a pass with him.

We head out to our spot, which is a quarter mile straight road, with two lanes and a wall for a median. Then you have about an 1/8th mile to slow down. We ran heads up from a dig all four runs, I'd like to see what would of happen from a roll though.

The first two passes we made, we were about even out of the hole, and once I hit second I pulled on him about a half car. Third gear came quick, and I pulled another half car, and held it steady until the 1/4 mile marker. The last two passes we made, we were even again out of the hole. Second gear came, I put half a car on him, and third gear I was inching away from him, ended up winning by about 3/4 of car.

All in all we had some good runs, and I was definatly impressed. Looks like a fun car to troll around in, but I think I made him a little jealous haha.

BTW, I have run a best of 14.10 @ 98.99 with a 2.17 short time on an unprepped track. And I'm completely stock. Right down the OEM air filter. Haha.

nice runs but like u said u guys should of went at it from a roll to really see what's up...though from ur description of the runs it sounds like u would've pulled from a roll as well.

is his engine broken in? just curious.

Yes, it is. He has quite a drive for work every day, so he is about a week or two past the break in miles.

I think it would of been close from a roll.

Nice kill. I chuckled when I read the Pontiac Solstice GXP PR material, in which they directly compared the car against the S2000 stating that it had "more" HP, torque, and a better 0-60 time.

Fastest I've seen or heard for that car is 14.1. Looks the S2k still kicks ass after all these years.

I'd definitely like to see results from a roll where I think more emphasis is put on the car, and less on the driver
