ap2 and two subie's
Hey guys I just wanted to share my little adventure on the way home today.
As I merged on the highway today I happened to see headlights coming up quick as I slid over toward the fast lane. I eased off the go pedal a bit and looked out the window to see a silver wrx. The driver had this look of excitement on his face and was death gripping the wheel with both hands. Now my car is not suttle with the diffusers and 70mm single exhaust, and is extremely loud. As he passed by he was watching me out of the corner of his eye, but never turned his head to look, trying to act all hard. I am a car guy so I'm not ashamed to stare at a nice ride, but this guy was not giving me any love. Traffic was heavy so I slid in behind him and we continued on down the road about a mile. Now he's constantly downshifting and nailing the gas every 10 seconds acting like a jackass, trying to show me what his turbo camry has got. I'm praying for a clear spot so I can smoke this kid, but it aint happening in this traffic so I crank the radio and try to just enjoy the drive. As we round a corner and approach the next on ramp I look over to see a silver Sti coming down the on ramp and I'm thinking to myself I would sell my soul for a clear road about now. Little Dom in front of me must have seen the Sti at the same time because he nearly wrecked when the super turbo camry slides over beside him. Now Sti man is a bit older and you can tell by the way he enters the highway and the stance of the car he's not a noob. I'm thinking this is going to get interesting. Before I can blink Dom hammers the gas, cuts of the Sti who is forced nail the brakes to keep from being hit, and takes off in a puff of oil smoke. Sti man slows down a bit and falls in behind me and we proceed to pace Dom down the freeway at about 90. The kid is killing the poor wrx at every oportunity but just can't get away. It was almost scary to watch him throwing the car into curves at full throttle and swerving wildly around other cars. Finally after about 10 miles or so the road opens up and we get sort of lined up three wide. Dom's got his window cracked and I give him a sonic blast of 70mm exhaust at 8k as Sti man and myself go walking past on either side of him. From sixty to a hundred we put several cars on the kid. I must say it felt good to beat that idiot. Sti man and myself were pretty even with me pulling maybe a half car. By this point I'm tired and hearing my wife yelling at me for driving like an idiot so I slow down to normal speeds. I cracked the glass and gave Sti man the thumbs up, and I see Little Dom exiting off the highway in my mirror. Sti man and myself resume a normal pace and he's off a couple of exits later. After 4 years of owning this car this was probably my best road running experience, sad as that is, so I just thought I would share.
