Default Best Luck Ever

Not that my Story rivals any of the racing stories, but I got a good one that just jaw drops everyone I was heading down this totally empty road probably about 75-80 mph (just wanted to hear the V-TEC), but i failed to remember that the speed limit was 35mph. Usually Im not an avid speeder, but sometimes I'll try my best to double the speed limit in my S Anyways as I'm flying down the road blue lights just fill my rear view mirror. All I can remember was my life is over.(In MD the fine is a lot more since you also get wreckless driving for going like 15 or something mph over the speedlimit). Being a 17 year old kid with an S2000 doesn't look good. the cop came up and asked me how fast I was going? I said uhhhh 60 (big lie). The cop asked me where I was going.I said uhh Im just trying to get home sir...lets keep in mind that I'm trembling just imagining how many zero's this cop is gonna give me. The cop just says to me your gonna have a lot more problems if you wrap yourself around one of these trees...looks at my license and my registration...gives it back to me and just walks away....NO TICKET!!

Attempting to double the speed limit is one of the dumbest and most dangerous thing I've ever heard! At 17, your driving experience is also quite limited which makes this a recipe for disaster if you keep this up.

If you're an owner, how come it still says enthusiast under your name? Get that fixed big guy. You should be proud to own one. If you do.

Also, what are you trying to prove and who are you trying to prove it to by doubling the speed limit? s2000_rider is right - you'll end up in the hospital or worse heaven forbid if you keep this up.

Ease off of the gas pedal chief - drop the top - and relax a bit. You're only 17.....At least finish school/college before putting your life at risk like that. In that case - you accomplished something.

Sorry if I'm babbling on, but people who drive like a nut do not belong behind the wheel of any car.

like you i learned my lesson at 17. i was driving my Prelude down a section of highway that was pretty empty. it was daytime but there were no cars on the middle & fast lane. i gunned it out to 135mph. it was a thrill; but i decided it was stupid so i slowed to 75 or so. then out of a group of cars behind me i see a black patrol car switch over 2 lanes and fly up right behind me.

i knew it was over... he gets my license, registration, and insurance. asks me if i knew how fast i was going. i said, i don't know, i was just trying to get into the 3rd lane to exit. he said.. well 75 is a bit too fast. (in my mind i feel a surge of relief). he told me he'd let me off if i can give him some tips on how to fix up his then brand new Focus. i tried hard not to laugh and gave him some newbie pointers. he let me go.

lucky me

Be careful kid. I 180'ed my S into the curb at age 17 trying to show-off. Sometimes it's just not worth it.
