Default Best race ever.

Noone was doing anything tonight so I went cruising around town listening to some 311. Going South on 210 at midnight I run into a black car with square headlights(couldn't tell what it was at the time). He gives it some gas and opens his BOV next to my face...so I do the same to let him now I can play too. We square up going 40(no cars anywhere mind you) then punch it to 140. We stayed even all the way up to 100 until I start pulling away shutting down with about 3-4 car lengths(didn't run through any intersections mind you). We ran 2 more times with the same result, then slowed down to give each other a thumbs up. We ended up pulling into a gas station to look at each others' cars and talk. The guy had a fully built engine/tranny in his Grand National pushing 580whp@24psi. He was like "No way, I can't believe that's a 4 cylinder! " We decided that the reasoning behind me pulling away was his weight and stretched out 4-speed. Probably the best race I've had in a long long time. I recently turboed my car pushing 410whp@17psi /w 4.44 gears. Street racing is not safe, but we did wait for a stretch of road with noone around to be as safe as possible..be gentle

Using the SG6076. I told him I had 410 at the wheels and he said 580...he could have meant 580 at the crank. Who knows, was just a great run ending with a handshake and a thumbs up.

Inline pro kit /w BB SG6076
3mm Headgasket
Built Head
4.44 gears
3" inlinepro single exhaust
6 puck comp clutch

Nice kill on Turbo power. I agree, a lot has to do with the weight. The GN probably weighs 3.8K lbs plus not very aero dynamic

Torque, shmorque! As long as the S is in the right gear, torque shmorque! If only torque wins the race, then a stock S2000 should lose to most slower cars with more torque, but it doesn't. As long as it's in the right gear at optimal RPM, it'll spank many cars with more or much more torque. Example? How about previous generations of Mustang GT? You don't race in an S2000 by leaving it in 6th gear and let the torque pull.

"a LOT more torque at a MUCH lower RPM" And the point is? That GNX sure has more torque at a much lower RPM, but then it probably redlines at 1000RPM. While the S2K is already in its optimal gear and pulling all the way to 9000RPM. I have kicked a Mustang GT's tail that had about twice the torque of my S.
