I think it's pretty funny that you guys throw judgement at people based on the cars you "think" they own (alex you're guilty of this too). I mean, this is the internet guys. I could claim that I own a Ferrari, and probably pull it off with all the material floating around out there. Point is, no one ever really knows for sure who it is that's sitting on the other side of the phone line, nevermind what kind of car they drive. The only thing you have to go on is what people say, and their attitudes towards others...

I traded my S in for a white 99 M3 a few months ago. Ofcourse the torque on the M3 was much welcomed. I did noticed that mid of 3rd gear, the acceleration seems to not push as hard as 1st and 2nd compare to the S2000's 3rd and up.
Maybe the HKS exhaust and AEM CAI made the s2000 screamed so it "seemed" to be faster. I did many runs and feel that my s2000 was faster. Some of the passengers that i have taken in the S felt the same way.
Speed was one thing, but i like the s2000's feel much better. Eventhough the M3 was much more practical compare to the S. (that's what i wanted in the first place when i traded the S in)...I had more reasons to go back to my honda. Yes, i traded the M3 in after a week. lost money, but i am happier with the S2000 and i will never wonder anymore.
OH yeah and i was going to say i raced my friend's M3 a few different occastions before. i think he had an intake, not sure. But anyways we raced from about 60 a few times. He got me everytime he stomped on the gas, (getting half to almost a car on me at the begining), but going to 9 grand in 4th gear the S would gain ground. I dont know/remember but all i know is that my impressions after we shut down were that in those races, my s2000 wouldn't be in his rear view, and if we went faster... he wouldn't have to turn his head to see my car. He chose to shutdown on all of the races that way, with me never ahead. i guess he didn't want to speed past a certain MPH or whatever his reason was, either way we all know that these two cars are very close. Now he has a different 99 m3, faster than the last (moded). i would guess it would be different if i raced this other car. Bottom line, i would love to have both cars in my garage.

I have a huffy bike single speed with nitrous. My bicycle does the 1/4 mile in 10 sec. I have raced bpu supras and Ferrari's and whoop them all the time. I'll show you guys some pictures when my buddy Mr. Snuffleupagus (aka Snuffy) returns it.
