I'm supprised at what i'm reading. I was playing with one of these last year through town and freeway. I walked it from a dig and on the freeway both and quite respectably. It was the new body style 335i. which may be more powerful this year? I don't keep up with the latest BMW specs but I think I read that this was a 300hp car. they look like they are about a 3200pound car. Both of us had a passenger. It looked bone stock. I have an 01 with tools and spare tire removed. test pipe,KN drop in filter, Findanza aluminum flywheel and 225/45/16 rear tires for 8% gear reduction and I know how to drive it well. doesn't take a genuise to stomp on the gas on the freeway though. We were doing several 3rd and 4th gear pulles and I had him by several cars every time. From a dig it was even until I hit vtec, then I pulled one car from first and easily another one once I pulled through second. I was dyno'd at 210hp and 143tq to the wheels. I now have a Vfac2 and tanabe concept g cat back but dont know what i'm making anymore. Give me a race with the new one if its any faster

It may have been a 330i if the cars look the same. It was last year so if the 335i just came out for 07 then it couldn't have been a 335i. Like i said I am not up to date with all of the BMW line up. This guy and his friend were on a mission so it was fun to cut him down I never ran one of these so I wasn't sure what to expect but I thought it would have put up more of a convincing fight. Does anyone know what the specs are on a late model 330i?

The new 335i is a Twin Turbo |6 and should be a little faster than your AP1. Stock 1/4 is mid 13s for that car.

My friend and co-worker has one and we have played around in the mountains and we were both staying with each other, however I have ridden in the car and it is quite a beast if he wants to get on it.

ummmmmmmmmm i have to say you read the emblems wrong. If your read correctly the 335 would have pulled like 30 cars on you. lol i know cuz i have a stock 02 and had an encounter with a 335. not a very enthusiastic situation for a stock s2
I messed around with a 335i on the hwy and it never pulled 30 cars on me but it did started to creep away in the middle of 5th gear, I shut it down in 6th around 200'ishkm. I was never side by side with it in the beginning but at it's rear bumper up until its started to creep away. It admit it would have started to walk away, but not pull 30 car lengths. However I am modded though so that is a different story. My mods are modified oem throttlebody, j's racing header, injen cai, t1r testpipe, and 70mm single exhaust. I hope to run into one again and in a couple months when i'm boosted.

on the 2006 330 is making 255 HP so thats prolly the one that you ran into. Not bad for the 330 if thats what you raced with

man.........what would people pick? 335? or m3?

The 335's weren't out last year...first ones didn't really hit the states until after the first of the year I'm pretty sure. A stock 335 will generally pull on an E46 M3 from a roll...the 335 is lighter...has as much if not more RWHP and has alot more torque. With Procede V 2.0..after market down pipes and an otherwise stock exhaust it should be in the low 400+RWHP range and probably 430-440 lb/ft of torque. Mine is over 400 lb/ft on V 1.45 with a completely stock exhaust. A 335 running just V 2.0 with a completely stock exhaust shold be around 370-380RWHP and well over 400 lb/ft. and they're very strong from a roll.

If I was forced to sell my s2000 and buy a BMW I would choose the M3 no question. I like the lines on this car better, especialy from the rear. Its all sport -- for a sadan. and everyone knows what an M3 is...thats my 2cents.

I have an M3 and a 335 and the 335 is more fun to drive on a daily basis...you just mash the gas at any time and it just starts pulling. I love my M3 as well...love the sound of the S54 screaming at over 8,000RPM's but it just doesn't put a grin on my face like gobs of torque does.
