the BMW and it's wing
I was on the way home last night, and I was in traffic at an on-ramp. The on ramp was metered at the time with the stop/go lights. I'm in the middle lane, and just before I get up to the line to wait for my light, I hear this "buzzing" noise coming from behind me.
Pulling up in the car pool lane, and stopping at the light, is a blue BMW 3 series (maybe 1995-1997). It has a HUGE aluminum wing on the back of it, and an exhaust pipe so big you could probably hide that cackling hen Star Jones inside. The kid driving has a backwards visor on. (oh i just love visors. it's like a hat that never got finished being made)
So he's next up at this light before me, and he starts revving his car. He then holds his rpms, and upon getting his green light, he launches, and proceeds to race himself. What's even more stupid is the fact that it's bumper to bumper traffic moving about 10mph on the freeway, which is a mere 300 feet down the onramp. So he races himself, probably loses, and then slams on the brakes as he approaches traffic.
My light turns and I go up the on ramp and find my way into traffic. Several miles down the road, as traffic lightens at a major freeway split, I find myself 2 cars back from the BMW in the left lane. (i can still hear his farty tinny exhaust) At the next interchange I take the right lane, and he jumps into the lane in front of me as well. As it turns to 2 lanes with traffic a ways ahead, I move next to him to see if he's gonna go again. I get next to him, and he downshifts, and creeps up a bit. Going about 75 I downshift to 4th, and start to creep on him a bit. He finally goes, so I floor it, and leave him quite far behind me. I shut down at about 110 and he was several cars back.
I hit the brakes as we come up to traffic, and he flies by me, moves in front and then puts his blinkers on.
Sounds like I'll have to troll the bimmerforums and look for an "S2000 thought he could beat me" thread.

Classic, at least it's a bimmer but what's up with the aluminum wing(s) these days? Just yesterday I saw a mighty (for all the fanboy) Ford "F o c u s" with a huge aluminum wing but everything else was stock, guy was blasting his music like he himself was at home. The Focus passed me (not in my S) then all of a sudden a Toyota Pirus with one of those pepboys muffler (some long muffler that sticks out about say 6" from the rear bumper) zoomed right pass me on the left lane then stopped at the left side turn lane. Got to the light and looked over to find that it's one of the toughest looking teen I'd ever saw
, cap to the side, eyeing me from the corner of his eyes while I'm looking straight at him, shows no emotions whatsoever, and trying to stand his ground. I just looked at my wife and started laughing then shook my head at him, (ouch) then he just took off cuz his light turned green.

haha. dont worry about some hater kid doing a ricer flyby. you and he both know his car is trash. in the end even if he tells his friends he beat an s2k, he still knows, deep down, that he's driving a hunk of shi~

I don't think he had a chance once he put the visor on.

Those give you warp-speed!
, even more when you wear it backward... It's like adding FI and aerodynamic at the same time.

Not to mention that the visor add hp if you wear it sideway
