Default Called out by a Saturn...

Heres the deal. Lately, a buddy of mine has been on my ass to race him at some local flashlight drags. He has a very well built Saturn SL2 with all forged internals and an EMS with a t3/t4 turbo pushing around 17 lbs of boost. He has never dynoed it, but my guess is that he has somewhere around 300 hp to the front wheels. Again, this is just a guess. What do you guys think? I'm gonna race him regardless, when I can find the time. I have AEM V2, TP, Invidia and 4.57 gears.

If I lived in Pittsburgh still. I'd raced him.

I don't know if you would win, but I got revved at by a early to mid-90s big-ass Caddy today on the highway. I just laughed and kept driving.

Race him if you want, even if he wins you still have a true sports car...he could be pushing 500+hp and you would still have the better car.

I think you should race him, I used to have a SL1 and if I remember correctly, it redlines around 5500-6500 rpms, you should have him easily!!

Redlines are no way to gauge a cars speed. If the Saturn is indeed pushing 300 fwhp then an S2K without boost will probably get beat.

My guess is you'll out launch him, but the longer you go, the lower your chances of winning are.

Thats what I was thinking, too. The tracks are 1/8th mile which works in my favor, too, cause it gives him less time to run me down. This should be interesting. I'll post the results when we get it done.

1/8th mile? If you can launch, I'd bet on your car.
