Default Camry!

I was headed to lunch with co-workers, 6 of us going... so of course i took one and let the other 4 take a boring car. we happen to get to the first stoplight on the way at the same time, so i pulled up beside him. i know the Camry driver, and i knew he was the type who might want to have fun.. sure enough light turns green he floors it. i just rolled out like usual no launch but left it in 1st... once vtec hit i started pulling but before that we were even. up to 55 i had half a car... pretty sad, but thats what a bone stock s2k is these days... competition for a v6 camry...

so stupid story why bother racing a camry blah blah.. but wait! best part: when i let off at 55 he kept going .. sounded like he was still full on the gas... this surprised me a bit cause at that point he was borderline unsafe and definitely in for a huge ticket (40 zone)... when we get to the restaurant he reports that his *gas pedal got stuck*. thats right, when he floored it to 'race' me, it stuck behind his carpet... so he's barreling along the road at close to 70 with 3 other people in the car trying to reach below the dash and pull the carpet off the pedal...

lucky he even made it to lunch ... anyway thought i'd share.

If they didn't have front-drive they'd be dangerous. Way more power than grandpa's car should have!

those V6's are no slouch...268hp and about 260 or so lb/ft aint bad for grandma's econobox.

As to the gas pedal thing...I had that happen in a similar situation. My friend and I were in his dad's truck merging onto the main road through town. He pushed down the pedal to get the truck up to speed and...it stuck to the floor!

So his instinct when this happens is to hit the brakes of course, so he does so and after a second or two of deceleration the truck starts accelerating again! At this point we're both a bit worried as we are seconds from slamming into the vehicle in front of us. He keeps the brakes depressed and slowly engages the emergency brake just like you're supposed to. the truck finally comes to a stop (inches away from the car in front of us).

Turns out what happened was The gas pedal stuck under the floor mat and when he tried to slow down the brake lines burst! Scary stuff.

That was with 4 vs 2 people, as well. With 1 vs 1 and no launch in the S2000, the Camry V6 would possibly take us in the 1/4 mile. They run 14.3. Then again, if you're worried about 1/4 mile times only, you probably aren't driving a S2000 in the first place.
