Default Clash of the Titans, 99 C5 Vert vs 02 M Coupe!

To my buddy's defense, his C5 is a "Soccermatic."

His only mods is a Haltech intake and a Corsa Exhaust. My mods are just custom Magnaflow mufflers; which might I add does a lousy job muffling.

We raced three times last night.

First was from a 20mph roll. I left it in 1st and stomped on it on the 3rd honk. Top of first came quickly and 2nd came with a loud chirp of wheel spin. During the middle of second gear I started to walk him by a good half a car, 3rd came and I continued to walk him. We stopped once we reached 90mph. I won by a solid 1 1/2 car lenght.

M Coupe 1 - C5 0

2nd race was on the highways. We both slowed down to about 50mph. I downshifted to 2nd gear and waited for the 3rd honk. On the 3rd honk the bastard took off simutaneously. I was caught off guard and hit the rev limited in 2nd gear. Once I hit 3rd I started creeping up to him. We both shut down once we hit 120mph. Once again, the shoe that could obtains another victory. This time with just a car lenght, his front bumper to my rear bumper.

M Coupe 2 - C5 0

3rd race was from a dead stop. This time I had one of my friend in another car flag us both. Let me remind you guys that I am an experienced drag racer and he is not. I took off right when I saw the flashlight lit up. He was like... Duhh.. Needless to say I took him by a good 3 cars before we both shut down.

M Coupe 3 - C5 0

Later that night we both went to get our cars weighted. My came in at 3090 lbs, he weighted in a hair over 3300 lbs! I always thought C5's were lighter?

Good runs. These are the types of "encounters" I like to read about.

I was surprised to find out that the majority of Vettes are "soccermatics"

Silver M Coupe in my neighborhood. I pulled over talked to the guy. Learned a lot from his experience with the car. He says the s2000 was his first choice along with the boxster. I guess he chosed the better of the both.
