Default Cobra on raod course?

Well I seem to have this guy who thinks a bone stock Cobra will win on a road course against an S2K. What do you guys think?

Depends on the driver...

Check out what a fairly modified...suspension, lightweight Cobra does at www.v8venom.com at Laguna Seca...

The Mugen S2000 can do as well at the same place...

Yea, I know modified vs modified...also different drivers

Would be cool to see some runs though.

Problem is i couldn't race since i have the mugen aero kit on my car (except for the front because i couldn't stand the smiley) and an exhaust so it wouldn't really be stock to stock. Not to mention this guy couldn't come up with a bone stock cobra to race.

Well, it depends.

Prev-gen Cobra, bone stock against an S2000 bone stock with equal and excellent drivers in both cars and the S2000 wins hand down.

Latest-gen Cobra, and it's a tossup.

Even if the drivers are equal, if they are not very good than the Cobra will have the advantage, since it is easier to drive fast.

It will also depend on the course. Tight course with a lot of mid-speed corners gives S2000 an advantage. A course with slow corners and long straights gives the Cobra an advantage.

It really depends on the course. On a course(cones or permanent), if the corners are tight and there are none to few straights the the smaller(miatas, s2000s) cars will usally win out. But if it's a track with some straights and the corners are not as tight, the pony/f-body cars will eat us for lunch.

Take a look at the SCCA SOLO II Nationals...in 2001 a '98 Cobra, which runs in ESP in stock form, ran 50.191 while the fastest S2k in AS ran 50.456. Now AS and ESP ran on different days, so I'm not sure if weather was a factor.
