Angry Comptech S vs. WTF WAS THAT?!

So i'm driving up 95 north with my girlfriend last saturday night on our way to New Haven. I had just put a full tank of gas in the car, top was down, nice cool night. As we are cruising at about 65ish I hear the sound of a nasty V8 tearing somebody to shreds.

I couldnt see what or who it was, so I kinda move up in the pack and come across this maroon 85' or so mustang (forgive me if I stated it wrong, but I belive those are refered to as "fox-body"). It had flared dual pipes, and gauges up the pillar. I believe I had found the culprit. I see him slowing down, so I match his speed..I see my speedo read 65......60......55....50...i'm thinking "we're in second gear territory here buddy"

I'm the type of person who will race anything really, and I know this guy is trying to gear me BAD. What happend next, really.........well I wouldnt say surprised me, but I had no idea what an ass handing i'd recieve.

He looked over and heard my blow off valve whistling at him (the damn thing wont shut up when i'm off the throttle). I can just see the gears turning in his head and before I could even sense that he was going to hammer it, he did. The thing stood up like it was going to lift the front end off of the ground!!! but it didnt....luckily.

I immediately dropped all the way down to second gear, and stood on it. It was waaaay too late. By the time I reacted and got it into second, he had already pulled about 3 cars on me. I dont think i've ever dropped it that hard EVER. I see my girlfriend get pinned back in her seat in my peripheral vision.

I had no chance against this guy, but my serious drop put a slight pause to his mean pull. I threw it into 3rd gear to see if I could at least gain a little on him near top end, but he just kept pulling away. So I let off, as he did, now about 5-6 cars ahead and rolled up slowly. I was glancing in his window waiting to make eye contact so I could give him a smiling thumbs up, but he kind of just peered at me in his peripheral vision all straight-faced, as if I was going to attempt to go again...hahah no way! not after that man-handling. geeez!

So after I didnt do anything, and he heard another sneeze from my blow off valve as I went into 5th gear, he looked over. My girlfriend applauded him and he finally broke a huge smile and waved his hand out the window.

I looked over to her and said "that was all this car had, there is nothing more it could have given." My girlfriend just smiled and ran her hand across the dashboard and said "it did its best, and pretty well judging by the sound of that mustang" She is an american muscle car fan, but loves the S

Nah, I knew what I was in for, it was actually one of those kills where you dont really mind getting beat. The guy was actually a younger guy with no mullet. It sounded good, and performed like it was done right, so i've got no problem with that

Once in a while, you will run into a really fast mustang. Way to take it like a man.

Get yourself some 4.57 gears and next time you see him, you'll make up those 5 cars very fast
