I should clarify.... Do you drop the clutch off the line to get a better start is what I mean.....


I am curious if any of you even bother dropping against mustangs anymore. I am talking about stock or lightly modded only. (remmeber, almost 90% of the mustangs that are around here in wisconsin are not modded except more than lightly)

I find that when racing a GT (2002 or older) and the 5.0's that the S2000 pulls on them pretty good. I mean why put the clutch/drivetrain through the drop if you will win by 3rd gear anyways??

come on over to CO, I bet I can find at least one lightly modded stang to shut you up

 

I thought I wouldn't until yesterday when a new V6 mustang started to get on my nurve.
It was traffic hour (church goers on the street) and this V6 mustang started riding my tail as I was coming off 495 to Route7. As soon as I got off the exit, I hammered the M in 2nd gear (around 35mph) and that mustang was in my rear view real fast. As I slowed down (because it just was waste of gas), he caught up to me and started riding right beside me. He tried to play in the traffic a few more times until I showed him the fact. The fact that V6 mustangs are NOT SPORT CARS. I like Cobras and Roush Stage 3s, but V6 mustangs, Please know your opponents. Even my gf was laughing it off. Too sad.

 

Dropped one very hard this weekend. Highscool kids. Told me later that the thought I had done an engine swap, and put a Ferrari engine in there...classic stupidity.

 

Cravnpup, by lightly modded, I mean nothing with enormous horsepower gains. I have raced GT's with exhaust and/or other light mods. Nothing big. If you have a hard time believing this, I will gladly take a video camera next time I go, and give you all the proof you want.

 

I think a stock S2000 is a fair race w/ a lightly modded GT. The S should be able to win. But, I bet we'll have to hang these videos up next to the 13.7 timeslip.

Sometimes I just wish that I had a camcorder running non-stop. About five minutes later, some guy I didn't even know was trying to get this Camara SS to run me. The SS wouldn't run me because, "That's an 11 second car!" Man, guess I don't need to do that boost upgrade after all!
