Default Drag Results...I suck

Ok...so I went to the drags last night in Famoso...I've decided that I'm a kick ass AutoX'er but for some reason I just can't go fast in a straight line....

here are my slips

Anyway...my mods are in my sig...and I was also running a testpipe...
Elevation was somewhere around 500 or so, and Air Temp on the first run was around 100-95, second around 90-85, and third and forth were around 80...it also pretty humid.

But then my friend with a Z was able to pull of a 13.8 @ 100 with a 2.1 60', he also did two 14.0's and one 14.4 where he missed 4th...I guess I just gotta challenge him to a run in the twisty's

He still did really well? There's nothing well with 15.3 @ 93mph. Well, practice makes perfection; or just keep on doing autox instead.

I think a lot of it was with the launch...I have heard all the stories about diffs breaking...and I have absolutly no money right now...I was trying to slip it sort-or at 5500...

But each time, I'd bog pretty bad off the line, then it'd take about a second before I'd VTEC in first...after that, it seemed fine...I landed every shift fast...

It was my second time ever being to a drag, and it was my first time ever going in the S.

Why were my traps so low though? Were they also cause of my launch? I thought they were more just hp related...ohh well...

In AutoX I have been only 2 seconds behind the guys with Hoosiers, and I'm on G-Force TA K/D's so I guess I just do good with the turns...I'll probably try dragging more, just need to have some cash saved up so I wont worry about the diff so much.

Try launch at 7000 next time. Unless you do it all the time i wouldn't worry about breaking the diff.l unless you have slicks. With a good launch you should able to get 14s.

Ps: At least you're consistant

There was one run in the 14s and considering the temperatures you were racing in you did real well. The S is is known for retarding the timing with warm temps.
Wait until the outside air temps are closer to 60 and you will run much faster. You should be pushing 100mph in the 1/4. I would think a little more power should do it. If not, take a few pounds out of the car. A well proven CLB trick.

yeh wow even with a 5500 launch you should be in the 14s easy or so if your an average driver........I've seen it done. 7500 will get 13s.

Is there something wrong with your S?

Hehe...well at least I admitted I sucked right?
And no...nothing is wrong with the S...its just me bogging horribly at the launch.

I mean, most of my 60' foots were around 2.5's, my best 60', the 2.373 at least got me into the 14's, but IMO still isn't a good 60'.

Just give me a more critical analysis of my times, I already know they suck, hence the title, but is there more that I'm doing wrong then the launch...I'm not shifting slow, am I? I mean, I never power shift, I always use the clutch, but I'm still shifting quick (I'm used to AutoXing and shifting fast). I everything pretty much because of the bogging at the launch? What are normal 60' in the S? Whats a good 60'? 2.0?

Ohh...and one thing to add, on the last run, I ran against a friend with an Evo RS...he just got it...and also had a horrible launch...first he bogged, then he put the clutch back in to "re-slip" it and it sure slipped, all the way to redline. But anyway, back to the point...he was supposed to run before me...like way before me, because I put his tools in my car..like an extra 75 lbs. Not that it should account for 15.1, especially since all the weight was in the trunk. But its just the fact, I was carrying more weight...not less.
