Default dusted a modena.. sorta..

this past weekend on 6th ave around the mid 20's (nyc), this red modena kept on my ass as we tried to make all the lights. (the lights on the avenues turn green and red in sequence.. catch one, and you can catch em all..). i wasnt looking for a race, especially not with a ferrari! i pulled over one lane, slowed down, and let the light on the next street turn red. he came right up next to me and started revving his italian motor all up in my face! instead of instigating, i complemented him on his car.. he said it was brand new, and noticed that mine was brand new as well (temp tag). anyways, he asked if i wanted to race.. i obliged and we waited for the light to turn green. they say that my car can do 0-60 in 5.2 secs.. i havent had that much launching experience in my new car yet, but for some reason i thought that maybe, just maybe i could beat him.. modena 0-60 in 4.x secs was the calculation off the top of my head.. boy was i wrong.

7k rpm drop.. thats what ive read here in the forum is the proper way to get a decent launch.. so there i was, the yellow tach light dancing around 7000. modena was doing the same. (my car sounds better! ok, maybe not..) light turned green and he totally shot off like a rocket! i was there spinning my tires into a small cloud of expensive smoke. i finally hooked up and he was already 3-4 car lengths ahead of me! now remember, nyc avenue lights turn green in sequence.. get to one red light too quickly, and you'll have to sit there for a sec until it turns green. he made it to the next street much quicker than me, he slowed for the light to turn green.. me on the other hand kept my foot mashed down to the floor! i totally blew right by him!!! before he could retaliate, i made a left turn onto 30th towards the lincoln tunnel

oh, by the way.. modena does 0-60 in 3.6 ticks.. holy moly!

does this count as a kill?? heheh.. didnt think so.

S2k has to launch at 7k
Modena has to launch at 0k

Modena has a grip of torque, hence he was in front by 3-4 before you even locked up, hehe.

I say it was a kill

I bet he's irritated as hell cuz he didn't get a chance to catch up, haha.

hhmmm..........tough call!

Nah, I just can't say it!, I can't say that an S2k beat a Modena (almost like defying a fundemental physics law ). Sure it was nice hearing that thing rev and seeing it take off like it, there is a red one that goes to a nearby local gym in Wayne, always saw it in the lot, never rolling on the road.

Manny, better watch out of those pot holes in Jersey as well (our roads are not much better than the nyc's), I wouldn't wanna see anything happen to those lovely C5's.

And just remember... lights timed for 35mph also work at 70mph!

the modena sounds nice.. but you should really hear the lamborghini at speed! there are a ton of ferrari's up in alpine, one diablo, a handful of 911TT's, a few bentleys and a couple z8's. the best sounding car ive ever heard was that diablo.. the barchetta aint bad either (Ferrari NA is literally around the corner from my house).

isnt wayne near saddle river? i wouldve thought that there would be alot more upscale cars out there.

Just my openion, there is not a better looking wheel on a VW/Audi than the ABT A22/A23 (don't get me wrong the C5's are awesome like I said before), there is a blue S4 in Wayne with a set of 18's and I had 17's on my GTI VR6 (which is off course not the reason why I'm making such a statement ).
