E36M3 vs S2000
Been a long time since I've posted any races but here goes....
So my gf and I are about to get on the ramp to the highway, just blasting some music and minding our own business. Just to note, I had the top up and I have an Injen CAI only. Anyways, I'm merging into the lane to enter the ramp and just as I'm about to get move in, I see this E36 M3 in my mirror. He apparently just go off the highway. I was thinking, "nice car....i want one as a project car one day." I was slowing down a bit to let him get in front of me so we could switch lanes (him to get on the main road and me to get on the exit ramp), but he slowed down too. "Nice guy", I'm thinking, so I hit the turn signal and slowly move over.
The ramp to the highway is a big circle and while I'm on it, I see him tailgating me really bad (couldn't see his bumper...all i saw was his face in my mirror!!)!!! The rest of the following happened kindof fast and with the big ramp, it's not too hard to imagine. Anyways, I figured at this point, this guy just got off the highway and saw me....he followed me BACK ONTO the highway b/c he wants to run and wanted me in front of him on top of that. I turned to my gf and said "hmmm, this guy wants to run, look in your mirror." She looks back and says "sure, go for it. He sure is close to your car. Is he doing that to instigate???" I said, "probably...ok, we'll see what he's got."
Still on the ramp, I push it a bit more. He follows. I push it a bit more and he slowly starts to fall back (at about 2 car lengths back now). The ramp finally straightens out and I downshifted to third (I was in 4th earlier, not really pushing it hard since I was trying to feel him out). I looked for traffic and it was clear with no cars coming and a few cars far ahead. I looked in my mirror and saw him punch it, so I punched it too. I switched over one lane (off the entrance lane) and he was already swinging HARD to the far left lane (4 lane highway) cutting all 3 lanes at one time. I'm like "damn, he's on it!!"
I'm glancing at my side mirror as I'm winding out 3rd and I notice I'm walking him (about 1.5-2.5 cars at this point). I switch to 4th, switch another lane over and I'm STILL walking him. At around 8k in 4th gear, I look back, he's probably 5-6 cars behind. When I was in 5th a bit, I looked back and he was around 7-8 cars behind. I'm sure he let off a little at some point during 5th...we were doing well over 100mph (I think 130)! Anyways, I shut down shortly after and slowed a bit. I figure this guy will come up beside me, we'd give a nice thumbs up and go our own way. As I look in my mirror, he's coming up pretty fast in the far left lane (I'm in the 3rd lane next to it). I'm like "wtf?" As he's passing me, I look over....and I get nothing. He's still flying, cuts through some traffic and zooms off. Where was the
??? Oh well, it was fun till the end. My gf was disappointed. Most of the ppl we race give a

Nice kill!
Most of the E36 owners around here usually have something to prove...
When they fail, they usually do something stupid. Adolescence and ego is a contributing factor in this; in most cases, both.

ok, i guess i'll get to the point of this story 
bad driver or something wrong with his car? maybe automatic (do they have those?). i don't know, i honestly expected some flaming i guess (NOT that i wanted it..haha). i had a passenger, he was alone. i pulled on him pretty good (i was being a bit conservative in my original post, but in all honesty, i had him by more). is this normal for an e26 m3? doesn't seem quite right does it? i thought they were supposed to be very comparable (S and E36) ?
