Well first race against the SRT4. Im cruising along on the freeway, minding my business and we pass an SRT. I wasnt really planning on racing since my clutch and tranny are pretty new. So I pass the guy and a few mins later he creeps up, I kept my speed 65-70 so he passes me then slows down. I was thinking to myself your picking on the wrong Evo Anyways he starts being a dick, he flashes the car in front of him and gets up on his ass, I was like what a jerk. So I continue at my speed, he gets behind me and passes the car then gets next to me. I didnt downshift I just stayed in 5th, he im assuming went to 4th. I take off first since I knew I would be at a disadvantage by not downshifting (trying to be easy on the clutch and tranny) I pulled about half a car then he pulled ahead maybe 1 car then I started to build boost and reeled him in pretty easy, then started to pull hard, I'd say I put 4-5 cars on him and then let off. Needless to say he didnt try catching up to me again, he just stayed back

BTW, my mods now include WORKS 269 Cams, Ti Valvesprings & Retainers (8K redline) WORKS 10lbs flywheel, WORKS CK2 Clutch (Carbon/Kevlar) along with upgraded tranny and my previous mods, TBE and Reflash

Ok next race, well not really friend of mine from work had a 03 S10 well on the way home from work I would always mess with him since we go the same way. So he just picked up an 05 or 06 Crossfire and he told me "hey I got a Crossfire, I can keep up with you now" I was like yeah should be close I didnt want to hurt his feelings So today leaving work he follows me onto the freeway. We were at a decent speed so I stayed in 5th, I think he downshifted maybe 5th since its 6 speed. Anywyas I let him go first and I caught him very easily and then put about 10 cars on him up to about 120, then let off. He pulled up and just laughed, and we went on our way. Hehe, Im curious what he's gonna say at work tomorrow

I got mine ECU dynoflashed last nite, and man what a difference, pulls hard all the way to 7800rpm

Watch the srt4 forums, they may be twisting this story up, haha. "Saw a modded Evo, he was in the same gear I was, beat him by a car, and then he pulls a ricer flyby."

 

Hehe, yeah probably, I love doing ricer flyby's As for what im putting down, I would say 280-290 at the wheels. It's basically the WORKS TR340 package (340 crank hp) but also if it wasnt for our crappy 91 octane it would easily be over 300 whp.

yeah when I got my flash I was like damn, I should have done this a long time ago It definitely pulls hard to redline. Now with the cams Im the same way again. The car pulls very hard and makes nice smooth power although, highest Ive taken it so far is 6K rpm.

Anyways the SRT run I enjoyed more since he was being an ass, but the Crossfire, I knew wouldnt be much of a race

Haha well quick update. I talked to a coworker the day after and he was like man you hurt Gerry's feelings (guy with the Crossfire) I was like why?.He says well I guess he thought he had a shot at beating you or at least being close,. I started laughing and he says yeah he's a bit dissapointed now Well next day I see Gerry and im like hey whats up and he just walks by and waves and says yeah you smoked me. I was just playing and said yeah I heard you wanted a rematch, he's goes nah its ok and laughs.

Hehe he seemed a bit disappointed. I guess its because he's been giving everyone rides and they all think his car is fast

Maybe he'll trade it in for teh SC'd one
