Why don't you sell ur S2000 and buy a Hyundai Tiburon and spend 24k into the motor and I bet you run 10 flats if you want a fast car?
hyundai=ford racing?

I know you have already made up your mind, but there is a lot of history behind the ford GT in the 60's when it battled and beat the ferrari's. The car is all about nostalgia. Now I am going to take a gander and say you know absolutely nothing about the history of the car; how it came into being, how well it did, and who drove it. The car is dripping with racing history, and that is one earth shattering difference between a tiburon and a ford gt. Ford has years of racing under its belt, Hyundai has nothing. I really want to stress that. I see what you're saying, but its important to look at the whole thing past and present and not *just* the blue oval that you disdain so much.

err, the Carerra GT costs about 3 times as much as the Ford GT. Not that I wouldn't rather have a Carerra GT as well, but that is a huge price difference.

And like brock said, the Ford GT is more than just another fast Ford with a big engine.

To be fair to that guy, he may have been refering to the GT price when it first came out. It was going for 2 1/2 to 3 times the list price. I think Leno paid in the 400K range for his.

As for is ignorance (I'm using that in the literal sense, not making fun) of ford's heritage, one name Carroll Shelby. That helps sum up a lot. I'm not a big ford fan, but I give credit where credit is due.

The Ford gt is garbage compared to the original gt 40.

The original Ford GT was a race car. I believe there were a few street models built, but very few. The new car is a much better street car: more comfortable, more reliable, much improved aerodynamics, etc. It's not as good a race car, because it's too heavy. However, a "club racer" version of the new car would be pretty impressive.

I would like to see you fit inside the original. I had the pleasure of trying to fit in one, and it would not happen. there are reasons for everything, just like the reason your post sux because you have no idea wtf you are talking about.
