Feeling guilty...made a guy blow his engine
So I pull up to a light with two left turn lanes. Couple cars ahead and next to me I hear a slight rev. It's a mid '90s 300zx. It has a cheap looking exhaust and rims. It was an NA, so I'm not sure what he was revving for.
The light turns green and I cruise out as quick as the cars in front allow and end up in the middle lane. I need to get in the far right lane to whip onto the interstate on-ramp. But the 300zx had pulled in behind me and then quickly went to the far right lane before I could. So I ended up behind him a 100yrds or so from the on ramp. The on ramp opens to two lanes and then reduces to 1 as you merge to the interstate.
As we get to the on ramp he is really pushing it. He goes wide to the outside lane and I blast around him on the inside like a freight train.
I put a few car lengths on him, then slow to merge. Once on the interstate, he does the ricer flyby and POOF! Huge billowing clouds of blue smoke. So thick it is like fog.
Sad thing is...he keeps driving. I watch from a safe distance behind him. Every break in traffic he guns it more and a jet of blue smoke spews from his left tail pipe.
This goes on for a few miles and then miraculously the smoke stops.
And then I see him pulling into the emergency lane. Oh well...
Should I have stopped to help?

there was this thread either on here or another where a guy was racing an M3. As they were racing the M3's motor blew into a million pieces and the guy who raced him pulled over with him and asked if he needed any help... he got a pic of the m3 and the owner rather dejected...
good race!

A few years back M3 owners were blowing motors up left and right. Some of the better deal$ you would see were used rebuilt trade-ins, with the blowing problem fixed though. I checked because I wanted one but they were still expensive.
