Few Runs in the S
I just found this forum and have been a member/owner for a little over two months. Since I got it, I've gotten a few runs in lately. Here's the few I can remember.
RX-8 (stick) - exhuast was the only mod I noticed for the obvious reasons..only spoke to the driver briefly. we went from a dig where I tried to ease the clutch out but ended up bogging off the line. luckily he dropped his and spun considerably. we both started moving about the same time and i put a few cars on him. i stopped at the top of third.
RX-8 (auto) - not even a race. what a joke.
SE-R & 01' Eclipse - i kinda of invited myself into this race. i noticed them ahead of traffic and caught up. they got the jump cause they were yelling back and forth, they didn't honk it off. i passed them and shut down.
00' GT - ran on the tollroad honking it off at 65. was a full bolt-on auto with claimed valve body work and 3.73's. first few runs i had the top down. gt consistantly pulled just a little harder. we pulled over, i put the top up, and we were almost dead even to maybe 110-120.
Mach 1 & 3000GT - Mustang has full bolt-ons with a 125 shot. GT was running a custom turbo setup @ 18lbs. I'm bone stock. Both cars immediately put numerous cars on me. Mustang took the win by a long shot.
Cobalt SS - stock as far as I could tell. went from a dig and I baby the clutch off the line. I can't remember how much I beat him by, nor do I remember when I shut down, but I remember it not being close.
There are others, I just can't remember right now. I enjoy taking on all cars to get an idea of how much I win or lose by. I refer to the Road & Track magazine as the Bible because in the back, it lists all 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, so I get an idea of what I can and cannot beat. Anyways, that's all I have to say for now.
Forgot to add that I love reminding the domestic guys that I'm I4 n/a!

ive raced a viper back when i was completly stock just for fun lol....we all know how that turned out.. and i got a crazy one too
we were downtown Atlanta yes Atlanta.....small streets, on a 5 lane road me 2002 (s2000), Friend 2004(neon SXT...lol), 2003 Crown Vic(mom and dad), 1999 Buick(Cousin), and my other friends freakin 1999(accord). yes i know it wasnt a fair race i killed them to about 65 and i gave up because i wasnt about to wreck on those narrow lanes, but they all kept goin until about 80mph and my friend in the accord ended up comin in 1st, cousin 2nd, parents 3rd, friend in neon 4th and i came in last lol..... that was a funny race to me considering my parents joined in on it and we were all at a stop light on a 5 lane road in downtown Atlanta.

Drop that clutch!
its better to just drop it, other than trying to baby it. thats how you blow up a diff. tire spin is a good thing with this car.
and welcome!
Hello spy!
I'll try that from now on. I practiced launching in a parking lot before and found it worked best at about 6k. Didn't feel comfortable doing it though, so that was it for me. I'm going to the track this Wednesday and will try both methods. Of course we all know which will work better, the problem is that the track I'm going to is notorious for being a little too slick, causing excessive wheel spin.
