Hey guys...at the little mom and pop coffee shop i hang out at there was this guy with an audi tt who i had struck up a conversation with. After some time others began talking that we had to the backroads where most quick sprint street racing is done (a little over 1/4mile). no cops no one in sight to get injured except the drivers themselves. i accepted the challenge of the TT who was very eager to race me. he thought i would have had no shot at beating his awd car so i basically thought it would be a good race.

1st time around i do a couple of runs before hand getting a feel for the road and i'm sticking all my launches perfectly. so we set up for the 1st run and the some guy drops his arms and i gun it but the gears didn't catch and the TT jumped out to a quick 3 car lead which i managed to catch up and pass with no problem redlining every gear.

2nd time around i go for the infamous 7k clutch drop and the second the guy dropped his arms i shoot off and left the TT like it wasn't moving...at the half way point i had about a 2 car lead and finished with well over 6 cars. i think missed a shift in the middle. needless to say the TT wasn't much of a challenge...neither was a guy who claimed he had a 13second 1/4mile celica (old model)...or the numerous other cars who refused to race me. it was a fun night and my first formal introduction to the world of illegal street racing.

Those TT's ain't that hot. They drive very similar
to the Audi S3 (cuz' there pretty much the same). The
S2k feels and is a a lot faster. Look nice though.. (duck)

Funny thing about TT's, they quote the bhp at 225, but
quote the S3 at 210, turns out that they are both about 215-219. You tell me..

Automotive Developments in Oxford. I was thinking about
chipping my S3 last year and I spoke to a chap there for
quite some time about the safety of chipping and the
different outputs on the S3/TT. He said when they put them
on the ramps to test them before chipping they all register
between 215 and 219 Bhp.

IMO I think it's a bit of a marketing angle/scam
going on in Europe with the S3, quoting it lower than
the more expensive TT, even though they are mechanically
identical and the peformance on the S3 has been reported
to be slightly better (lighter car/better balanced).

Ya....now try to pick on someone your own size.....like a S4.

Should be pretty much even, with the slight advantage to the S4, if the S2K gets a killer launch...

If the S4 is chipped.....babye....

Yeah, and let the S4 pick on someone its own size like the new M3. You can chip it, exhaust it, but you forget the M3 can do a bit of modding on its own and spank the S4's aging ass in the straights and especially in the turns.

Heh, pick on someone your own size? What's the fun in that? You run what you brung. Doesn't matter if it's a 20 year old beater with a big shot of juice or the latest Euro hardware right off the dealer's lot.

Personally, I like running against guys that are supposed to beat me (or at least expect to), especially those that have an anti-import bias. When they get pulled by a stock looking, dirty (I like to leave a piece or two of birdshit on the car), no rice bearing, steel wheels with plastic wheel covers, 10 year old, FWD Honda the look on their faces is incredible.

Honda - $4000
Supercharger and mods - $4000
Look on Mustang driver's face in your rearview - priceless
