G35 vs AP1
06 G35 - Stock
00 AP1 - I/E/TP & AP2 motor.
2 runs from 60 to 100mph. I'd end up with 2 cars ahead in the end. We did do a run with him one car ahead @ a lower speed. I'd end up passing him with one car ahead & keep pulling. sounds about right?

06 G35
spacer, header, exhaust, intake, throttle body
00 AP1
Exhaust
went from a dig and i got him by at least 2 bus lengths to 100 then from a 30 roll and i got him by about 2 cars to 110...

a stock s2k and a bolt-on 6MT G35(intake, spacer, exhaust, reflash/tune) are roughly evenly matched with equal drivers. The G is much more forgiving when it comes to shifting well. a 5AT G35 with the same bolt-ons will likely be a tad slower.
I used to own a G... great daily.

I watched a G35 slam into a solid rock wall in the mountains head-on at 50+mph. Probably the single most horrific thing I've ever witnessed. The truly amazing thing was seeing the the two guys in the front climb out of the wreckage without a bump or a scratch. Amazing machine.

I attribute a lot of it to active headrests; they're designed to move forward in the case of a rear impact to reduce/eliminate whiplash.
All in all, very solid car
I loved my G35 coupe a lot, but it was no where near as fun to drive as my S2K. The gear box an steering wheel almost felt disconnected in comparison. Great for a daily driver. But a rather boring jump IMO.
