goes like this........it's 2am and i'm headed home and doing 70 and just chillin when a car starts to come up real fast behind me. i still didn't know what car it was....sOo i just down shifted to 3rd and punch it.....then he gets some room and goes intot he left lane and notice it's a yellow conv. 911 carrea and he starts to pull me in at the begining of 4th gear...and started to pull away slowly at about 115mph.....i went up too 130 and he had me by about 2 1/2 cars....ran him twice same results he would pull me in 4th gear..i guess thats what a extra 80hp will do for u...hehhee i was still impressed w/ my baby....i think it would be closer if we raced from a stop and only up to 3rd gear....hehhehhe but hey...my car still 60g's less hehehhe

hmm...out of any gear he should walk away from you effortless, unless you have some serious mods.

 

i'm stock..and a conv. 911 carrea runs high 13's....it would be pretty close......it's not no 911 turbo....it's got 80hp more but weights about 6oo pounds more....so it wouldn't walk away effortlessly in every gear.......it's faster forsure at top end...but 1-3 it would be closer then top end

The Convertible 911 is not a high 13 sec. car. It is a low-mid 13 sec. car. If you are referring to C&D's specs they tested a 300 hp (now have 320 hp) with tiptronic (automatic). Most 996's can now do 1/4's in very low 13 sec. range (The previous generation 300 hp did it in 13.3-13.4), with the convertibles about .2 sec. behind that.
