I was just about to turn home on Westheimer, when I see
this silver S4. I get next to him, I look at him, he looks
at me, and he guns it!

He starts weaving trough the traffic, and I'm right on his
tail. Finally, the traffic clears up, and we are next to
eachother. We match speeds (30 mph) and he
steps on it. I look down at my tach - oh sh*t! I'm
in second, at 5000 rmp (no VTEC yet). Well, what
a hell, no time for shifting.

He gets about 1/2 car length in start, until I get to VTEC,
and then I slowly start to catch up. Shifting at
readline, I get about 2 car lengths on him until about 80mph,
that's when we shut down. He pulls next to me, we both
roll down our windows, give eachoter thumbs up, and
go our separate ways (meaning a U-turn for me, since I
missed my exit ).

I'm happy we didn't get to race from a stand still, I think
he might have got me then with his 4WD, since the
road was a little wet.

Well, that adds an S4 to my list of respectable kills (I don't
count integras, preludes, jettas and riceboy civics).

So far:

'00 S4 30-80 rolling, 2 car lenghts
'02 WRX standstill to 80, 2-3 car lenghts
'97 Mustang GT 0-60, 2 CL; 70-120 7-8 CL
supercharged '90 Mustang LX 5.0 80-120 3-4 CL


A single loss:

'00 Camaro SS he beat me so bad that it wasn't even funny

 

And you count a 1997 mustang??????

Yes, I thought so too... It's just that there's always
something in the way. I was in Europe the last four
weeks, and tomorrow is my wife's birthday ... so I guess
I'll have to leave it for the week after.
