in my first few years out on the road i seemed to have an affinity for getting in trouble with the local authorities. you could say i was ticket prone. if i can recall correctly...since i got my driver's licence in '95 i've been pulled over 12 times for moving/non-moving violations. so far since then i've been clean for 3 whole years. *knock wood*

5 speeding
2 no front plates
1 broken headlamp (not my car)
2 tail lamps (too bright)
1 expired license plate
1 no seat belt

*edit
my worst/embarrassing story:
once, after a night of bar hopping, i got pulled over on LSD(lake shore drive) early morning for speeding, 59 in a 40. ironically, i lost my driver's license that day and the officer had to take me to the station because he wouldn't let me drive home without it. he told me to leave my car on the side of the road to pick it up later...it was about 2:30 am. bail was $3K and needless to say, i didn't have the 10%($300) on me. i called my buds and my brother whom were nowhere to be heard. i exhausted all my options for about an hour before i had to make a pleasant wake up call to my father. he picks me up all p.o.'ed, and to add insult to injury, my car was gone. we were calling and driving all around the city to the towing companies til about sunrise with no success. well, we eventually found it on our second try and i paid for the fines big time. i just thought that i should share that story.

what's the most tickets you've got? anybody else have any stories? sorry if something like this has been posted before.

just as a side note, i only had 4 convictions of the 12

thanks,
P

I'm 23 and have 31 pull overs. Many of them were B.S. pull overs, ie. obstruction of view for an air freshner, window tint, out headlight, failure to inspect, seatbelt, ect.

I haven't gotten a ticket in over 40 months but at one time I had 12 -13 points. I had 1 reckless driving ( pled to careless), failure to yeild, improper lane change, and 2 other carless driving tickets.

Since you gave a story......
The 1st careless I got was a 140 in a 40 racing 5 different cars on a 3 lane highway around 2AM. The cop got everyone to pull over and I was up front. I figured he can't get us all so I took off again. He pulled back out and I pulled back over as he screamed at me on a PA. When he came up to the car he was really pissed but I was real polite and told him I oculdnt even think of a BS excuse for him. He let me go with a careless driving and a warning.

The reckless, improper lane change and failure to yeild were all in one stop. Some guys were street racing on a highway and I was independently speeding and caught them from behind. I saw the cop as we all passed him and they didn't. I bolted off the road and he followed me. After a 45 minute search and 4 back up units came ( he called me in as a pursuit) I got my tickets.

Before anyone ripps into me.... I havent been in any accidents and I no longer drive like a jack ass. Oh yeah, all of those pull overs were in my 94 Probe, I drive my Cobra like a wuss.

I'm 23 and have had about 25 pull overs. Only convicted of one speeding ticket. I once got pulled over twice in a 28 minute span. First for speeding, second for no front plate. Got tickets both times and got out of both of them. Have been pulled over twice so far in the S for no front plate and have gotten out of both.

i got pulled over by a cop going the opposite direction then me when i was 17 driving my dads new silverado. there was constrution on the other side of the road, making the side i was driving on higher then the side the cop was on. i was going around a very tight bend and got pulled onto the low side of the road....this put my tires on the double yellow lines. it was about 1 am. the cop pulled a u-turn like i just broke out of jail..... he pulled me over and said i was driving like an idiot and was speeding.. i said you were going the other way sir, how do youknow i was speeding... he said i had to do 80 to catch you. i thought to my self, that doesn't mean i was speeding, if he only did the speed i was doing he would have never caught me so of course he had to do 80 to catch up to me. he then called for back up. i had colonge samples in the cup holds that my grandmom gave me from the department stores. he then proceeded to find them after searching my truck for no reason and accuse me of having drugs in my possesion... he then relized it was just cologne and preteened that he was doing me a huge favor by only giving me a ticket for reckless driving and speeding!!!! i fought it and lost!!! the judge said he has to take the officers word...next time i'm bringing a lawer.

another time i got pulled over in the S2k when i was driving in the slow lane behind someone in first gear. we had just come off a red light and i was going to pass this person. i have invidia exhaust which doesn't mask sound at all. i past this person and shifted before vtec. i didn't do anything wrong. i was well below the speed limit. a cop who was just driving around pulled me over. he said that i was driving reckless. i said i didn't do anything i was driving normal. he says "i could hear you winding out your motor." i was not able to explain to him the high/low cam and vtec deal... he proceeded to say that he could raise my insurance through the roof if he wanted to. this is the only time i've ever gotten away with a warning. BUT I DIDN'T DO SHIT! god i hate police

ps. i just got pulled over in oct. for the same deal... i got a ticket for speeding and for having a visor hanging in my rear veiw....i'm fighting it with a lawer. he was even clocking he guessed i was speeding cause it "sounded like i was"

yeah, i guess the cop had to assume that i was unlawfully operating my vehicle under suspension. i had my state id on me at the time but he said that it is against the law for him to let me drive home without having one physically on me. i would think that you could get all the information from a state id? but the same incident has happened to an ex-coworker of mine in the burbs and he got taken in. oh well. it was pretty weird/cool experience being in the back seat of a squad car. it's also a funny story that that my friends still bust my balls over.

speaking of the burbs, that's were most of my grief came from. for those no front plates tickets, both instances the cop pulled u-turns to bust me. i guess they get bored in the burbs 'cause there doesn't seem to be as many huge a-hole cops in the big city.
