I didn't really get to see the end of this, but I saw a GTO and S2000 going at it. It looked pretty close. Just wondering how that would turn out?

Maybe a dumb question, but still kinda new to what the S2000 is really capable of.

 

the new got are really fast 13.3@100's. but as i have found out the s2k is a very formable car roll on. i have smoked mustang gt's roll on. but i would say dont waste your gas, you'll get torched. unless you have an sc or turbo or something. anyway i thought id answer you cause i hate when people get ignored.

Which year GTO?

If you mean the 05-06 GTO with the 6.0l LS2 you are talking about a 400 hp car. In that case from a roll or stop you are toast. Even if you are talking about the 04 GTO with the 5.7l it still has 350 hp and should still walk away from the S.

 

from my experiences w/ 03 GTO 6spd

When I had intake and exhaust vs bone stock:

Got pulled on hard from a 40mph roll, from a 60mph roll the gto just walked away.

from a dig, it depended on how good of my friend was driving on that particular day. We never got any really really good runs, but I've beaten him once, due to his sucky launch, and he's beaten me before. It's usually pretty close until he hits 3rd, then he starts pulling pretty hard.

I've only ran the GTO once since I got 4.77's. We went from a 15mph roll. We were dead even til 3rd, I started to pull just ever so slightly, then we shut down before 4th with me pulling barely.

They are def. a fast car, especially for being so heavy. I think from a dig w/ the gears I should be able to beat him, as long as I drive well

 

Unless you are FI, you will more then likely get beaten...but it never hurts to try

 

LS1 or LS2 is death to a stock or anywhere near stock S2K.

 

I had a chance to go with our version of them here which have the 5.7l 350 hp, dual exhausts etc. etc.

We were at a light and due to construction you couldn't go straight and had to turn right straight off. Messed up roads. So light goes green and he spins his tires while I smoothly turn the corner, fly through the roundabout and another left - he was miles behind It was hilarious - then we can to a large straight and I slowed down due to traffic infront of me - he had the opportunity to fly by me but didn't - decent guy I guess.

Same happened at the next set of twisties - gave him a thumbs at the end, but he never tried to race me on the straight - either he got worried or knew he would smoke me!

Actually my brother has the 03 which is a 325 hp version and from fourth gear in the S he start to pull on me very slightly - he wasn't happy about that so is going for chip/tuning, header and full cat-back with uprated brakes. Those few bits are supposed add quite a lot of horses on those big engines - can't wait!

 

Had an encounter with an '04. I thought I would beat it up more than I did. I am FI.
