This guy is a bitch, EVERYONE READ!!
Ok, does anybody know anyone with a Black S2k that has a personal plate "GLFN(hand sign)S"??? If so, please punch him in the head for me. We were heading towards Malibu Canyon in my friends E36 328i with light mods (still no mach for an S2K), and we get behind this guy at the BEGINNING of the canyon. The road is completely clear infront of him yet he insists on driving 40mph. It was sad, he finailly pulled over and let us by, i couldnt believe it, i guess not ALL S2K owners are enthusiasts.
Anyway, long story short, Why waste $35k on a sports car if your going to drive 40mph through one of the funnest canyons in So Cal??

it could depend on the driver is not in a good mood, he may just got a ticket, one of his family pass away, his car still in the break in process, he feel to drive slow at that time, he still learning how to driving shift, it could be anything.
if he is driving too slow just high-beam him, to hint he should let you pass him, leave him alone. people doesn't have to always driving fast even they are driving a performance car.

That is no reason to punch someone in the face man....just becuase he chose to drive a little slower than normal? Maybe AVX is right...
maybe the guy in the black S2000 was feeling down or something. Chill out...

At least he pulled over and let you by. I drive speed limit or slower when I am in one of those moods...
There's times when I say--"They are driving a __________, they should use it." But yeah what AVXs said.

At least he probably knew that the road couldn't be the "funnest". Perhaps the most fun, to most people with 2 years of elementary school.
) a break, I had just woken up when I wrote this. Anyway, its just annoying when you have to follow somebody through a Canyon for 10 minutes at 40mph. Oh, and I know the car wasn't new because the back "window" was already starting to show discoloration. Maybe he shouldn't get punched, but a suspension of his S2K driving privileges would be fair.
maybe it's because he's actually pretty smart.
malibu canyon road is a very dangerous road, especially when its raining (like it has been recently). not only is the road highly patrolled by cops, but the canyon has a nasty tendency to drop rocks, dirt and other lethal crap into the middle of the road.
i enjoyed my years at pepperdine university and really enjoyed driving the canyons. one of the downsides of my four years there was that you could always count on someone dying in that canyon just about every year. in addition, you could count on a really nasty accident occuring on that road every month (more so during the winter). most of these accidents, i am sure, were caused by jackasses who think they're mario andretti becuase they play gt on their playstations and are driving way more car than they should.
the race track is the only place to race and push a car. thus endeth the sermon.

Well said Da Hapa,
Malibu Canyon is a fun road (although not even the most fun when you've got Mulholland, Latigo, Encinal, Decker, etc. in the area), but is way too heavily trafficked to enjoy most of the time. Unless you're willing to go out at 3:00 am (which we occasionally did when I was at Pepperdine), you'll almost always hit slow moving traffic at some point (usually several) along the way. Garbage trucks, construction vehicles, tourists, motorhomes, etc. And of course, drivers who don't feel like going any faster than the limit.
I can't count the number of frustrating incidents where a slow poke wouldn't even move over at the turnouts, despite having 5-10 cars backed up. Someone who's willing to pull over is rare and should be commended.
Oh, and I agree, dodging rocks the size of motorcycle helmets (or larger) is no fun - especially in a low slung car with minimal clearance!

OK OK, maybe I was a little harsh with the "punching" thing. It actually hadn't rained in quite a while until yesterday, so the road was nice, dry, and clear of debris.
My house is on Mulholland Hwy. so I get to enjoy that road at least a few times a week, plus IMO nothing is more fun than Malibu canyon WHEN you can get a clear run through without getting stuck behind anyone. Malibu is fun because there are a few open straights where you can really get moving, Its pretty tough to break 70 in either Decker or Mulholland but they are fun nonetheless.
There is a HUGE difference between pushing the limits of an S2K and going 40mph through a canyon, and if I recall correctly isn't the speed limit 45mph through the canyon?
Maybe I should elaborate more, we were at the stoplight right in front of Pepperdine and he was the 2nd car inline and we were the 4th. Once the light turned green he pulled into that 2nd lane which allows traffic from downtown Malibu to merge onto Malibu Canyon Road. We pulled into the same lane behind him, he passed the car in front of him, then we passed the 2 remaining cars in front of us before the lane ended. He was probably going at least 70 up the hill because my friend said we were going 55 and he was pulling pretty hard. Anyway, it wouldn't have been nearly as frustrating if he hadn't have driven so aggressively at the beginning. So I dunno, maybe his car felt weird or something, but he went from "speed racer mode" to "granny mode" in a matter of minutes.
