Default How Fast?

Just wondering how fast will this thing will really go with or without mods. I got mine to 138 on the hiway one day ( stupid I know) then I got scared. My car is stock with 17000 miles (all of them mine). the top was down, and the car felt solid and like it had more to give. anyone braver than me know what it will really do?

This has been discussed before. Do a search.

Anyway, I've taken mine up to 150mph before shutting it down. It was still pulling hard and had quite a bit of RPMs left.

Click on 'Library' on the top menu bar and have a look at the video labelled 'Turbo Dave'. It's done in Portugal and the speedo is in kph if you do the sums it works out about 175mph. The car is well modded.

The s2000 is not speed restricted at the top end and many people claim to have exceeded 160mph (stock).

I thought you would hit 6th gear redline before 160

Nope,

Turbo Dave actually made an earlier run pretty well stock and exceeded 160mph. It's a very slow build up to at the end to max out and hit the limiter in 6th.

spreadsheet to calculate speed in any gear. You can change tire size, gear ratios and rpm to solve for speed.

I've had my car to 161 (indicated), and I don't recommend it. At about 150 the car decides that's it's just a lazy Sunday afternoon and it takes it's frikin' time, it truly takes FOREVER to get to 160..but the car will do it if you can keep your nerve. The margin for error gets smaller and smaller, careful Grasshopper. My spedo is 1mph off at 70 (reading fast), but I haven't found a local cop that will let me drive 150 or so to see just how fast I'm really going. Suk.

I had mine up to 156. It was a lot of fun. I was just a little afraid that I was goin to hit a pot hole or something.
