Hey, most of you that have read my posts know that I'm not a shit-starter, but I was browsing the Gran Prix forums and found this thread:

http://www.clubgp.com/newforum/tm.asp?m=85...tmode=1&smode=1

What I don't get is, when WisconsinS2k raced that Gran Prix in the vid and beat it, all kinds of shit was flung from the Gran Prix side, talking about how bs this was and all kinds reasoning about how it might've happened. Yet, here's a thread where they're giving an Altima 3.5 props and consider it an equal. There's even an Altima owner on there who posted a kill against a modded Buick Regal (same motor as the GTP) and other GTPs.

Isn't the S2K faster than the Altima?

I can't believe you even care what a bunch of Grand Prix owners think!

Seriously it doesn't matter. Let them think what ever they want. And how do some of you people even waste your time looking through other car forums?

The only way a GTP can keep up with an S2K is if both cars are dropped from an airplane. And the GTP will be the car that looks better after the race than it did when it started.

The # of car owners ignorant of the S2000's capabilities is appalling. Damn near four years into production and we're still reading, "you have to launch it at 7K," or "most S2000 owners don't know how to drive their cars."
FWIW, and I don't really like to bring this up much because I am simply not interested in spending weekends at the dragstrip, but I wanted to know how all of my modifications (4.33 final gear ratio due to smaller tires, lightweight wheels, Supertrapp, pulleys, intake, etc) had altered my car's quickness compared to its original state of condition.
I won't go into details suffice to say the last series of Tazzo runs netted me a best run of 13.67. No crazy-assed clutch dumps either. The car is now at LEAST 15hp quicker AND just under 150-lbs LIGHTER than OEM. Makes for a good combination. Could I run 13.67 at the track? I've got no clue but the time stated (within .1) can be done all day on the road and that is where I'd most probably see a GTP owner. I can tell you that compared to my bone-stock S2000 Tazzo runs, the car is .5 seconds quicker in its present state.
Let some GTP owner without HEAVY modifications assume I don't know how to drive my car. That would be priceless. Bus lengths by 120.
