So i just finished eating dinner with my girl and decided to head back home since it was a little late and i was tired. I got the the street light trying to make a left turn. This vette pulls up. He has a guy passenger also. He pulls down the window, stares at me until i looked at him. Obviously, i dont like people staring at me, so i just glanced at him. Quickly, he screams, "Honda's SUCK!!" and also gives me a thumbs down. I ignored it as much as i can but he was annoying the crap out of me. (BTW, i just hit 650 miles so the break in period would be finished). Then he keeps on taunting and i just let it be. The light turns green, and we both make the left turn since its the two left lanes that can turn left. We were at a roll at about 15 mph and i kept it in first gear just incase. I though to myself, "I know i would get smoked, but he needs to understand that a $30xxx car still runs good with only 2.2L and a 4 banger. Also, he looked like he was a young driver to own a new vette (new because no license and looked in hekka good shape). He was doing the ricer shit by speeding up and then slow down and doing the same thing over and over. I decided to slow down since my rpm was at about 5.5k and he lined up with me. Then the passenger screams "NOW!!!" so i punched it. I dont know why but i did. All i know is that that fruit didnt know how to drive his car for nothing! At the end of first he pulled on me a small amount, then as i shifted to second i creeped up on him a tad. At the end of second i was a very small distance ahead of him and i shift to third. He then pulls away pretty hard. I shut down at about 80-85mph while the speed limit is 35. I had a speeding ticket before and this s2k is new to me so i didnt want to push it any more. It was more than clear that the vette was overpowering (??? 400hp/ 400 tq???). Then we ended up at another light where i needed to make a left turn onto the freeway and he taunts me more, then i just flicked him off. I was just gonna say "nice race! I got owned!" however, he was just a fruitcake about it so i just ingored him.

People can call me stupid, but i still need to learn the potential of the s2k on a hard car rather than a Civic DX stock. I had my fun and i have learned not to race them vette's no more.

Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed my story, and any input would be nice.

 

I enjoyed the story Ive been reading too many of these types of stories in street encounters. People need to just respect everyones car

Could have always made him follow you to a twisty road and leave him in the dust...I've been beating C5's at the AutoX by at least 3 seconds...and that was a faster track with less quick turns the S is soo good at...

I know the new C6 suspension is susposed to be better...but you definetly give him a run for his money...

But then, I understand your still learning the limits of the car...take it to an AutoX...you learn it even better.

 

It takes driver's skills to be good in the twisties; not everyone could do it even in the right car.

Let's see.. a guy in a 400hp car is saying that "Honda's suck" and you think you're going to prove him wrong by racing him in a 240hp car? Not really a bright idea. In his mind, you probably just proved his point.

If you have an 04' than isn't it 2.2 L ? Sounds like it is time for a SC or Turbo before you go up against him again. Nice run though.

 

I know i would have gotten my ass handed back, but i just couldnt stand them talking so much shit. I know they are faster, but i was suprised they didnt pull on me alot harder. If i was still in my old prelude, i know it would have been worse. I just really wanted to see how fast my car is cause i never pushed it through the gears. Anyways, sorry if i made the s2k look bad.
